Make it stop!

Post by Goblin »

I marked 'no' under e-mail notification for threads that I am involved in. I just found 59 e-mails in my hotmail account, all from threads that I am involved in. Is this happening to everyone? Can I make it stop? HELP!

I think you have to wait for the ones you did opt for notification to die out. I feel yer pain;)
If something's not working you might want to tunk it a dite.

Marc,
I just noticed something similar happening to me, too.
I found 2 mail notifications in my mail box, about two threads I'm SURE I unsubscribed days ago.
Then I checked in my user CP and there these threads had popped in again as "subscribed"..

Thanks chief. I am actually worried about the e-mail notifications though, the subscriptions are fine. I turned off the notifications around a week ago, and my mailbox still fills up, even for new posts/threads.

Goblin: Have you gone to USER CP>EDIT OPTIONS and check the ticks in there ? I suspect one or two might need changing. GOOD LUCK...:( :D

Two settings you need to check:

1. E-mail notification in your UserCP --> Edit Options
2. Make sure that you didn't subscribe to any threads. If you have, these will show up on the first page of your CP.

Email notification is absolutely off. I don't want any notifications. I am subscribed to threads. The amount of mail has decreased slightly, but its still coming in. Very irritating.

It´s turns the "default" off,
Use 'Email Notification' by default?
Using this option emails you whenever someone replies to a thread that you have participated in.

that means, when you want email notification of a thread, then you have to check the box for that before you post.

Ok, thanks Marc. Maybe you guys can add a feature that eliminates the emails? Its easy enough to find any new threads with the user cp and subscriptions, that I don't really need the emails. Thanks for your time on this.
