New Patch 5.02a (?)

There seems to be an upcoming patch. I found it at the link below. There is not any readme included.

That's strange. I don't dare downloading it though. I'd like to see it mentioned on the official page or on starshattermods before downloading. Could be good news. Let's hope [:)]

I downloaded it but didn't install it. It looks very official since it has the same license stuff and installer Starshatter uses.

If it is indeed official, it's strange that it's available there but not on the official site. Perhaps it got leaked or something.

Same here, I D-loaded, but I'll wait for official confirmation (I guess it's a beta of the patch, but it's strange that there is not official news that they work on new Patch).

Ok, so I downloaded and installed, but TrackIr still doesn't work. The blue light indicating that the game is supported never lights. I tried updating the trackIR software with checking for "Game Updates" but Starshatter didn't appear in the list. I am still running version 4.1.028 of the trackIr software... Should I upgrade to 4.1.030 for it to work?? Or is my software too new like before? 
 
I am running the newest .exe file (from may 2007) after the patch and the version number in the menu says 5.0.2 now as it should. I cannot see any changes in the game besides that... A readme would be nice I guess. 
 
What am I doing wrong?... Please help

patch 5.02 does NOT add trackir

i have updated the newest patch on top of the 5,01 patch with the hope of trackIR support,
now i am running windows vista, the patch works fine, unfortunately the TRACKIR support does not,

i am using trackir software 4.1 build 30 (latest)
starshatter the G, retail ->5.01 patch -> 5.02a
windows vista ultimate 32 bit

there is no support for the game on anturalpoints site,
so we now have to wait for a trackir update ?

or is there some special trick to enabling with 5.02a patch ?

You have to run the correct exe-file i think. After the 5.0.1 patch you had to run the Stars.exe instead of Starshatter-TheGatheringStorm.exe to "enable" the patch. Now, it's the original file again to get the menu to show 5.0.2.
 
If the patch doesn't add trackir 4... what does it do?[&:]

Nope... I even sent a mail to matrix support, but have gotten no answer yet (I will post here as soon as I figure something out though). The patch doesn't do anything, apparently... What a letdown [&:]

Guys... I've hinted to you how to fix the carrier crash problem. It's a LOD problem.
 
Mod the carrier .defs to use only the highest detail ship model. The crashes should stop. [:'(]

I've made a fix that should appear on starshattermods quite soon. Installation and activation instructions included. It only fixes the Alliance Orion carrier, and not problems with the other two (Dantari and Hegemony). I will try to fix this in the next version. [8D]

Register... go to the downloads page. Look for UTILITIES under the Starshater:The Gathering Storm section.

The mod is listed a Orion Crashes Fix. It is a 4.5 kb .zip file.
