RE: Hello?????
At last ! [:)]
Thanks Eric.
I guess all the guys just want to know where the games are up to.
As someone else said, if we could be given some information (even if it's not what we want to hear) that would be better than nothing.
I think there are a lot of people out there who want to see this release.

RE: Hello?????
Hi Guys
Sorry for the delay and the silence. We are havng some issues getting this to work the way we want to. My plans for this re-release is not going as I had planned. It now seems as if it may not be possible. If we can't get this to a state that I feel happy with we will simple re-release the whole series as a bundles packs that will work on either Vista/XP.
We are pretty close with the Campaign Series now and this one will follow one way or another.

RE: Hello?????
Thanks for the info David.
At least we now know a little bit more - even if it's not looking too good !
Can you give us any idea of a timescale when the games (in whatever format) might be ready ?
Perhaps you could also keep us regularly updated - it would keep the troops happy !

RE: Hello?????
As much as I loved playing BG games, there is only so much you can play the same few battles. Has anyone considered, instead of re-releasing BG series, expanding the Campaign Series system to include Napoleonic/ACW with all the editing benefits it brings? BG battles could be used as scenarios for Napoleonic series. The terrain scale is the same, and some of the graphics might be reusable. Ultimately expansion of Campaign Series over other periods can provide almost universal game platform.

Thanks for the update David.
When you say :-
"We are very close in releasing the the Campaign Series and thne we get the Battleground games out."
Are we talking months here for the Campaign series and then + months for Battleground ?

Thank you David so much for the updates. I know we all have been pretty antsy as of late and I for one am appreciative of you jumping on and letting us know what is going on. I think all of us, when we see an old game that was so close to our hearts, we turn into 10 year old boys on Christmas Eve and we want our presents yesterday.[:)]

RE: Hello?????
Well if that's the case, some updated screen shots would be nice. The ones on the website are atrocious. I don't really know this series, so some info on it's game website would be nice.

RE: Hello?????
Hi
Yes I am working on it. I expect it will be a July release God willing since we already released three titles this month and have one more ready to go. We are planning to make two sets one on the Civil War and One on the Napoleonics Wars with possibly with Age of Sail thrown in. These will be updated to work in Windows XP and Vista OS. There will be no major new game features but will be priced to make everyone happy. I going to guess around $29.99 per bundle and maybe a discount if you buy both together. I still working out these details. There might also be some new games in the series but we need to take a wait on that.

RE: Hello?????
Do you mean new scenarios using the existing maps, or whole new battles? Example: The Wilderness, or Chancellorville, etc...?

RE: Hello?????
Since I'm the author of some add-on battles, I'm wondering if the old mods will work also with the new release ...maybe with some adjustments...
...modding will be allowed or there will be restrictions and blocks?
Thanks again for keeping alive the BG dream

Dear Developers. If you have any mercy upon the poor devils who want to buy and play the Battlegrounds, please pretty please make a Chancellorsville/Wilderness scenario. With a new, beautiful, artistic, large 3d map, better than the one made by the players' community, which, sorry to say, does not reflect the actual battlefield properly.
As far as the Napoleonic period is concerned, there is such a plenty to choose from - Jena/Auerstaedt, Austerlitz, Eylau (a great map has been made by the community), Friedland, Wagram...
How many battles are you planning to add to the original? Will there be large 3d maps, which make the Battleground series a real feast for the eyes?

Rhetor, if you are looking for a Wilderness scenario, I'm working an a massive one, with a giant, new map drafted form the topographical maps and from the old maps available... only the map required almost an year of work ...if are you interested read the following discussion:
tm.asp?m=1330196
...there should be also a download link for the beta version ...I don't know if the link still works, if not I'll reload again the package.
RE: Hello?????
As David implied, it will be some time before any new games are released. I'm sure they will want to see how many units sell, before committing to new releases. It's certainly a good price to be able to get all the ACW titles bundled for just $29.99.
David, will there be any engine enhancements, similar to the HPS games?
