Yes finally.............

there's hope for the feeble minded in the world yet......[;)] [:D] ............ think I'm gonna get a victory in Coral Sea Hist. Managed to allude the enemy first day and lo and behold search plane from Yorktown spotted Zui & Sho around 09:35 hrs on day 2...........launched all avail. DB's plus my B-17's from Townsville (too far out for Avengers) and @ 12:10 1st strike from Lex got 2 bomb hits each on Z & S...........around 13:00 the strike from York got 5 on the Z sending her down and then my B-17 strike from Townsville got 2 more hits on the crippled Sho sending her down. Have lost the York from his strike but the Lex is unscathed (in a rain squall) and I'll finish this baby later!!!!!

I've found that B-17 drivers lie a lot. A great way to check is to check the strike screen at the end of the game, to see what hit, and what actually sank, as the in-game reports are NOT always accurate.

Hi Capt'n,

I'm interested in your experience with the rain squall. Was the Lex attacked, too? And was the difference between it and the Yorktown the squall?

I ask because I've found squalls are very variable, almost like a random % is being rolled to see the effectiveness of a strike caught in one. Some strikes get through and put hits on whatever's there, rain or no; other strikes seem to get lost and are lucky to get 1 or 2 bombs off.

Wonder what other's experiences are?

Actually Zep no Lex was not attacked.............she was spotted but I had given her orders earlier to increase speed to 25 knots head for squall, sp she lost spotter AC.......the funny thing is York was on escort Command TF @ same speed (same hex) but was just outside squall, got spotted also and took full strike.
