Yeah but they aren't saying they do not want to be active here. They are just asking that questions and suggestions be posted over at Slitherine. It kind of makes sense NOT to duplicate posts/requests/problems....
I see both sides here, but they aren't saying don't discuss the game here and they aren't saying they don't want to be active here...they are merely suggesting that requests and bugs be posted in one place.
It might help if they, when they replied to a post here, they were to post a link to the relevant post on Slitherine.
If they are busy posting here and on Slitherine, and perhaps on other forums, whos knows, then it's less development/patch time.
Problem is JD, how many people want to register to a forum for just one game, somewhere else, when you have one already over here? Now if the perspective gamer is interested in more than one of their games it makes more sense, but it seems a bit silly to do what amounts to making this forum pointless. If this is the place where they will draw more sales, it at least makes some sense to carry a large presence here too, but if it is just one game for them, with Matrix, then from their perspective it does seem to make more sense to route people over there too. Despite having to watch over two forums on the same topic, I wouldn't be too sure they realize just how much they could be missing from a forum that looks like it's only purpose is to route people somewhere else. I mean, if it comes down to we cannot ask questions of them here, and have to ask them there (not quite there yet I would say) why would we even discuss the game here that much ourselves? I think a good portion of us get on game forums for a usually two different purposes: 1) to find out more of the game, including asking the devs themselves and 2) to try to have some sort of impact in improving the game, even if it's just ideas, which of course means that it's pointless if little or no dev people bother reading it because there's another place for that.
I'm just saying I'm not so sure it's a very good idea for their sales, to have the more popular site as being neglected in comparison, even if from the maintenance perspective it sounds somewhat impractical.
