The key thing I am doing is NOT over extending I want to take the bases with a single Corps to preserve follow on forces but if that is impossible I will commit the entire Army Group into the two bases

10th Army may land at Aparri but I am more and more looking at laong because posession of the other two bases actually cuts Aparri off
 
By doing this I can kee 4 Corps at sea in reserve possibly for landings round the coast or potentially on Batan Island

In this game you cannot have a large enough force. SO just put all your units in those bases and just get them. Drop the "reality" and just get this war won.

If he can fly reinforcements into closed airfields and shuttle in troops in barges, etc, I think you should reconsider that committment to "reality". Use your sledgehammer and then use it again and again. If you go the "realistic" way you would have trouble getting past the first attack point.

I took the advice of the team and landed in 2 hexes only losses were heavy but acceptable 6th Amry is ashore and trying to secure the AF

I expect 10th Armies lead Division to secure Aparri Port and AF tommorrow the armour is ordered to pursue and rout if a breakthrough is achieved.

Wisonsin BG is staying in the Appari hex to provide support for the landing force pretty much all the allied forces are ordered to attack and drive inland I want an AF and I want it today !!!!

Forces are actually in reasonable shape after the landings

I am intenfing to use US III Corps and US XIVth Corps after the Camranh bay battle as my amphib punch that should operate in support of the main landings in a week or so

Well I have not seen the turn yet only the combat replay

It was a good day for the Allies 10th Armies III Amphib Corps spearheaded by the 4th USMC Div captured Apparri AF follow on forces from three Amry Corps are passing through them driving on Loang

6th Army attacked successfully in the south but despite good progress they were held up by the good defensive terrain it is expected that I Amphib Corps will secure the AF within 24 Hours.

In the night the Mighty Japanese BB Yamato was sighted and attacked the Wisconsin BG moved to intercept and a hard fought draw occured.

North Carolina looks to be hit hard although I hope not fatally Richelieu ate a torpedo but did not look damaged and Wisconsin looked to be in one piece all in all an interesting night

The Jap TF looks to have taken moderate damage and Wisconsins 16" shells look to have hit Yamato several times Mutsu looks to be in trouble

The Japanese force retreated to Loang which is good that means my bombardments can help.
 
PZB has a hard choice to make I can cut off his troops if I can take the crossroads south of Laong.
 
Remember manila is icing on the cake I am perfectly happy to stop at Clark Field

I would love to go after them but I suspect I would be better off keeping my landing zone safe and not wasting navy pilots.
 
My intent is to immediately pick the most damaged Corps of 8th Army and stand them down at Apparri prepping for Batan Island the other 5 Corps can pursue the enemy.

OK Guys I have been thinking about my next moves.
 
We are now in Mid May 1945 I was intending to use the US Corps attached to 1st Aus Army to reinforce PI and the CW forces for a re invasion of India
 
I think I need to reconsider this but I am open to ideas assuming Camranh bay falls and the garrison eliminated by the end of May those forces will need a month to recover.
 
That means I could free up

Remember that in 1st August you get the Russian Juggernaut with their 1000 point AV corps swarming into Manchuria [;)]

Take that in account with your plans.

Basically what you need is to conquer the neccesary airfields of Luzon. Batan I. is a great place to look. Then you have to go towards Japan using the least resistance route. Sahakashima and Ishieak seem to be without garrison. They are port 1(1) and Airfield 0(0) but with the million Seabees that you have you can turn them into bases that can help you dominating the skies of Japan with P51s, and bombing his reppu factories with fighter escort

I have been out trying to scrape up more force I dont want to take any more out of Aus or NZ its just a risk to far.
 
On the West Coast I get one heavy armoured Corps in 4 months time and 1st US Army HQ
 
I am going to concentrate all 4 of the Army Corps at Saigon to give me the flexibility to go either way.
 
What do think of Wenchow PZB would never expect me to go there, Batan Island is also a target...

Problem with Wenchow is that PzB can use the Japanese Army to pin your forces here. Better to attack islands, where he cannot reinforce as easily.

Pescadores is a island in Stock ?

Even heavily defended is a good port in that part of the map. You need one of these to stack the ARs and damaged ships....

You might march to Hong Kong with them.
Not sure how much supplies you brought to the PI operation, but if your Indochina/Siam forces are short you might reroute some of these.

Reinforce PI? What do you fear him doing there that you think you need reinforcements?! You seized your first base, the second seems to give in quite fast as well and you haven't landed all your forces yet.

How about bringing a TF full with supplies and seabees to Sovietunion? build up some of those airfields and then blow the Japanese Homeislands up. It should be doable easily enough.
Do you think it to be possible, that PzB would do a preemptive attack on SU, just to keep you out of those bases? Of course there is nothing you could do about it, but just keep this possibility in mind (only in case).

I am not going to use unfair co operation between WA and SU if I think supplies are inadequate I will fight a convoy through until then they are dormant.

I think PZB should activate SU now and go all out for the base with the oil.

I would go with Batan Island followed by both Sakashima Island (atoll) and its sister, Ishieak Island (atoll). Even though they are both size 0 AF, you have Seabees forever to place on there and build them up. [:D]

You may end up losing the war, but I would focus on getting to the Home Islands. You have to chose whether you want to go for getting enough VP to get a draw or go for a more historical perspective and attack the Home Islands. He has enough surplus Oil, Resources, and Heavy Industry to keep producing LBA's and rebuilding his LCU's.
