Is anybody still looking at the Save Game Bug?

Post by rockmedic109 »

I had an idea {which means someone else has probably already worked on it}.

Does the Save Game Bug only hit when using the mouse? Or does it hit when hitting the ESC key to get out of the save game screen as well? Would this narrow the search for this elusive creature or is it a non-issue as it is more of an annoyance than a game damaging bug.

I haven't had the bug hit in a long time {it's due} and it seemed to hit less often after installing to a very fast computer with 2 GB of RAM.

It was fixed....acknowledged by Don Bowen sometime last fall. Don stated that michaelm (I believe) tracked it down and provided the necessary repairs.

Yes we upgraded the file compression utility software (zlib) used in the save process for 1.8.0.2 and have not had a recurrence to my knowledge. We did not annouce that the bug was fixed because it was not easily repeatable. But with the amount of time which has passed with no recurrence, we think it is safe to say that it is solved or at least drastically reduced in frequency of occurance.
