Cause he has to request that his old account be reactivated by the mods who are the people who banned him. Which would mean swallowing some pride.

There is a possibility that the forum software won't let it happen... i don't know that i've seen anyone that has been successfully reinstated... perhaps it has happened, but i just don't know about it.

Also, if he decides to come back without asking for reinstatement, he could (maybe) by just getting a new screen name.

A little pride can be quite tasty and it would certainly be worth it to get all those Post back. I didn't eat all that Spam just for him to have to start over again....

But IP addresses can be monitored and blocked - so it is possible to prevent banned persons from getting back on at least with the same IP address.
