E-mail problems partially sorted out...The file attachment Mike was trying to send was too large for either gmail or my home e-mail address. He got me the turn via yousendit...
Mid March 1942
Legaspi fell... however my attacking force may now well be trapped there... as he landed in Naga with the 82nd Naval Gd.
In any event the counter attacks were rather pointless since the captured supply is not flowing to Clark or Manila. I've got 5668 supply points sitting in Lingayen that just won't move presumably because I have plenty of supply in Clark and Manila so they are not demanding the supply.

Update to 10th March 1942
Phillipinnes
Japanese forces pulled out of Legaspi on the 9th March, in order to lure the American colonialist forces to their doom. An elite Naval guard unit landed at Naga on the 10th, effectively isolating a large portion of the war mongering Allied forces. Lamon bay was invested on the 8th, this key Naval base is supplying munitions to local surface forces.
Central Pacific
Sydney Island, near Canton Island, was occupied by airborne forces on the 8th. Canton Island is now under close watch by recon forces.
Fiji Islands
The 9th saw considerable gains by two infantry divisions in Suva. The enemy have heavily fortified this important base and include numerous field guns in their inventory.
Burma
On the 10th, three infantry divisions stormed and captured Mandalay. Such was the swiftness of the assault, the main enemy airfield was captured intact and numerous enemy planes seized. The field contained the latest type fighters, the P-40B Tomahawk and the Hurricane IIb. At least one third of the so-called ‘Flying Tigers’ has been wiped out in one blow. Intact planes are being sent to Tokyo for full analysis, although an on the spot assessment shows these inferior planes to be no match for the Zeke.

Phillipinnes
Friendly forces were safely moved from Legaspi by fast transport, after successfully completing their mission. Meanwhile an elite infantry division has started landing at Lucena, in order to destroy the rogue American/Filipino forces in the Legaspi archipelago.
China
Heavy forces continue to push towards Changsha in central China. Meanwhile at Tatung, the trapped three Chinese divisions continue to be pushed into a tighter cauldron.
Java
Djokjakarta fell on the 13th. ABDA command appears to have disintegrated.
Timor
Lautem fell on the 13th, a large bag of ABDA prisoners was taken. The island is to be heavily fortified and incorporated into then outer defence perimeter of the Greater East Asian Co-prosperity sphere.

Sitrep to 18th March 1942
Burma
The 15th March saw a heavy enemy air raid on Rangoon port, with the latest B-17E ‘Flying Fortress’s’. More than a dozen were shot down, with few friendly losses. Meanwhile the ‘Burma Road’ has been cut. Lashio fell on the 15th and Myitkyina on the 17th. The supply of enemy material to the illegal Chiang Kai-shek regime has slowed to a trickle. The hour of reckoning for China is approaching.
Coral sea
On the 17th, CA Australia was sunk as it was approaching Nomeau on a bombardment mission, by G4M1 and G3M torpedo bombers. This latest enemy setback is thought to bring peace talks nearer as pressure grows on the Allied governments.
Phillipinnes
Lucena fell on the 16th. A large enemy force, including elite tank forces, is now trapped on the Legaspi archipelago.
Java
Tjilitjap also fell on the 16th. The only remaining Allied major base is Batavia.

Although the base had been captured - counterattacks have allowed the trapped force on the Legaspi peninsula to slip past the Japanese cordon and back into Manila proper.

Samoa Islands/Fiji Islands
Savaii fell on the 19th. Suva fell on the 20th, with a large haul of prisoners. This key base is to be heavily fortified and incorporated into the outer defence perimeter.
Osaka
On the 20th an enemy submersible was sunk in Osaka harbour. This vessel was believed to be waging indiscriminate warfare against civilian targets. Japanese submarines have been given order to attack military targets only.
Phillipinnes
Clark field fell on the 19th, the enemy colonial forces are being pressed back into the lair in Manila.
Java
Bandoeng, the gateway to Batavia also fell on the 19th. Only weak resistance is expected in Batavia. Pamakasan fell on the 22nd.

Atrocity [:-]
On the 25th several civilian Maru’s were attacked without warning by an American carrier task group, several hundred miles West of the Marcus Islands. Heavy damage was incurred and one report even suggests a ship (Kokoku Maru) was sunk, with wide scale casualties. Further moves by the Gaijin forces are unclear although Nippon itself is not under threat and torpedo bombers have been flown into the area.
Java
Batavia fell on the 24th, with a haul of some ten thousand dejected ABDA prisoners. The only enemy presence now on the island is an isolated force in the mountains near Soerabaja.
China
All resistance was crushed at Tatung by the 26th. Some three enemy corps were annihilated by the Imperial army. A large enemy force has moved out from Sian – this will be dealt with mercilessly, the illegal Chaing Kai-Shek regime is to undergo a series of hammer blows in the forthcoming few months.
Phillipinnes
Imperial army units are now entrenched in the Manila outskirts. The 25th saw an enemy assault founder badly.
Samoa Islands
Upolu fell on the 25th. Only Pago Pago now remains in enemy hands.

Overall the situation remains favourable for the establishment of the Greater East Asian Co-prosperity sphere. The enemy are still reeling on all fronts, big gains are still expected in China as forces approach the Changsha/Hengchow industrial complex. Further operations in Burma are anticipated and the Americans still appear to be on the run in the Central Pacific. However one alarming aspect is the recent appearance of American terror air combat task forces. Despite the purely military approach adopted by the Imperial Japanese forces, the Americans appear set on destroying any target, whether military or civilian.
China
An enemy raid on Sinyang was repulsed on the 1st April. A number of Zekes did not return home recently from raids on the enemy. Mid air collisions or self explosions are suspected for the losses, enemy victories can be discounted.
Phillipinnes
Bataan fell on the 29th. A large bag of Allied prisoners was taken. Interviews revealed a deep dissatisfaction with Allied high command, MacArthur appears to have fled the islands. The remaining enemy enclave in Manila is being steadily eroded.
Central Pacific
The 28th saw a reconnaissance in force at Canton Island. The island appears to be well defended, reinforcements are being readied. Enemy submersible activity appears high at Suva. Imperial navy forces report the sinking of S-42 in the are on the 2nd April.

One might almost think the written report includes the lines "there's a lot of dead guys on the beach".

Our guests apparently didn't enjoy the party...they didn't stay long. Problem is I don't think I will have enough hors d'ourves if they decide to come back...
