Fite Bitch?

Post by freeboy »

OK, what is going on here, I lost a full Das Reich, like six units on turn 276, only problem with that is IT WAS NOT LISTED ! If you look at the events future replacements and withdrawel list.. had I known this was comming I would not have been so timid with it, as is it was near 85-95 full plus 100 experience! VERY PISSED.. I just reloaded 275 and no mention of it being withdrawn.. if this happens again it is a game breaker...
Is it a bug, bad design?

Wow. Take a breath, bud. :D
Units to be withdrawn based on non-turn related events are not displayed in the expected reinforcements screen.

Which brings me to another point. The expected reinforcement screen shows units that will withdraw, even if the chance is only 10%., and the turn range is 50 turns...

Freeboy, just in case you didn't download the timeline+events excel file from the designer here is a heads up on other german withdraws:
Turn 290 - 9th Pz and LSSAH Pz Divs withdraw
Turn 296 - Luftwaffe units withdraw
Turn 308 - 11th Pz Div withdraws
Turn 325 - 2nd Pz Div withdraws

Think that is it.

ok, I am crying in my soup! WWWAAAYYY
My crafty oponent also launched his, : I better cross the water while I can attack in teh south.. getting his forst small breakout that I could not contain! Lossing seven units is not my bitch, lossing seven 100 effeciency ubits without warnig is! I would ask for a replay but I am too "over it" I think 44 will be a very very long year for my troops.. no more mud after the spring 44 mud! too bad there is not chance for randum warmer winter! thanks for the info re the troops withdrawels I did see the panzers on 290, looks like I am going to petition for the disband from my op due to the "error" here..
thanks again...
Think about my pissiness. I have played this one scenario into what 150 hours? more? and have got a knifes edge of strngth holding back a worn out enemy, great simulation of real situation btw... some great units too, and then WHAM, seven full strength elite reserve units get teleported into the delta quadrant! oops, that was another universe.. far far away..

I agree with Freeboy, withdraws should give a 'News Only' event notification. Too much of an unpleasant surprise that I think sometimes is accidently overlooked. Checking the stock Fite, event 466 lists Das Reich as being a turn based withdrawal. Checking the expected reinforcements there is no corresponding withdrawal listed there. As Veers said, the unit withdrawals are noted in the expected reinforcements. But army withdraws are not.

The designers may have been strapped for events and therefore not have been able to include news stings fro every withdrawal.
As well, is the Das Reich's withdrawal not listed in the timeline, as Zort mentioned?

Yes, Fite was designed with the 500 event engine and all were used. I was making a general statement not specific to Fite. Thanks for letting me clarify that Veers.

Das Reich is listed in the timeline, but the timeline doesn't come with the scenario.

Again, just a general statement, but wouldn't you agree that it is more important to let a player know what is going on as opposed to adding in that extra 10 event TO about Planet X entering our solar system?
