VP Question

Post by OldBoney »

I've been exxperimenting with the victory conditions and I'm confused. On p 50 of the manual it says the four values given in the VP schedule editor are the points awarded for destroying this type of ship (CV 15, CA BB 8, DD 12, Aux 7). The in-game VP values sre different. In Wake for example Lex & Sara are worth 255 while E's worth 150. The IJN's two light carriers are worth 120 & 135. All cruisers are 40 pts and the DD's 12. In the ship editor there is "ship worth" value (p47) that's only used by the AI. I guess it has no bearing on the VP's but it has another set of numbers (6,3,1,4).

My question is - How do these numbers combine to give the VP's that show up in the game?

The VP schedule editor lists the vp's each ship type is worth per 2500 tons (displacement). So the lexington is listed as 43055 tonnes, which when divided by 2500 gives 17 (when rounded). 17 x 15vps gives the 255 that the ship is worth.

Thanks for the explanation. I thought there must be a real world number (like displacement) in there somewhere.
