7.0 to 7.1

I've been out of it for a while.
I updated to 7.1, but the game still says 7.0. How can I tell if the update took. There is no extra directory I can see.

Question 2 while I am thinking about it. Can I install MCNA after I have installed 7.0, or do I have to start with 5.0/MCNA and then go to 7.0/MCLV.

When installing the v7.1 patch, you must remove the space between Matrix and Games on the "install to" line, then do the install.

If you install MCNA after everything else, it will probably drop you back to v5.1, which is why it's recommended it be installed first. However, you can copy the mech.exe, Oob's, SHP & SND files from your newer version, save them outside the game, and then copy them back into the game after you install MCNA. When doing the latter, be sure to delete mech.exe and steel.prf before copying the files back in, and then reboot after the copying. That should bring the game back to v7.1, assuming you get that in beforehand.
