Very close but no cigar yet. Gavutu is in fact visible in the upper left corner, but the location I am fishing for is in the center. Should be very easy now...

No point in more wild guessing - I've been fishing for Purvis Bay, 'home' of the cruiser-destroyer forces of Ainsworth and Merrill in the Solomons campaign.
