RE: Fall 43 Fall back!
The rail lines indeed give you a big advantage. First of all the reds are in low supply and recover slowly, but what is even more important is that you can gain local superiority easier as he canno't move reinforcements via rail to the battlefield!
RE: Fall 43 Fall back!
[:D] yep/ and the bigest area of concern is the center where his lines are shortest from the old ons.. may be a massive battle there! I am all told pleased with the lines.. few open areas not behind major rivers or swamps... we will see how much the cold comes into play! looks like he is attacking Toward LEnn! GREAT!
In the south I think things are good.. although we are streatched here worst of all, yet having my best panzers there and adding two new divisions in the next few weeks will help...
The reinforcment "forward" projections show 40-50 reserected German infantry comming in, pooped, but better than nothing!
Also several armor formations... Too bad I must wait till 3whatever to get those indie armor units!

Pressure points:
Coastal Turkey! The Lenningrad district. The three exposed .. ie not behind a major river sections... the area south of Lake Piupus... good luck!
I am swapping out some panzers in teh tank heavy south.. moving them North toward the center..... I released most of the POLISH fortification digger troops... looks like I will be using the lower quality reconstituted troops comming on to finish the work there.

End of 1943 recap
He is beatin the doors down in the Lenn district. I could have invested some more, BUT what if he only garrisoned them? did not want a units there.. there are several already! WE are pulling back giving up the fortified first line.. next week we will see additional managed retreats... this area will not fall easily!
Piopus lake zone...He continues to attack ! he continues to suffer greatly. glad I put lots of troops and reserves there..
Three center "open" zones.. well.. it is going to be an ugly time as they are already pressuring me with losses.
I suggest an alternate reality bversiopn where the Western allies collapse![:D]
In the South I hav aloto of troops in front of the Crimuia.. I wonder now if just giving up the open area would have worked and then ??? hard to be everywhere! I still need some 3-5 inf diviosions although I have released several tough elite panzers. the polish fortified lines look good.. he is going to have a lot of rails to rebuild in 44 45!!!

Dec 43
The only real area of gains are the few troops north of Kiev.. exposed and withdrawn!
The Lenningrad front shrinks again... I may send some troops and I just noticed he rebuilt the rail line into northern Finland.. ok definately dneed reinforcments to the North!

My northern defenses are in a shambles as the LAKE PIOPOIS is now the worlds largest ice rink! [:@]

RE: end of 1943 recap
My mighty East Wall has been breached do to the ineptitude of the meteorological staff and the HQ not seeing the need to garrison all thos ponds in Finland and Lake P! So we are now stable in the east, but grinding away.. while the Eastern Turkey troops are drowning in a sea of Red infantry... the Crimia is basically overun.. as I pulled back to the river .. Garrisoning ODESSA! Well things could be worse in January 44.. WE need only servive a little while till the next Mud and then we can reorge the entire front again!

RE: end of 1943 recap
The finns are still holding strong as the winter wears the invaders down... We are holding a line along the shores of Lake Ice rink, er I mean Peipus..
Then all the way sout h to the marshes.. then along the Dnepre to the Caspien.. things are ok.. he punches a hole I hit him.. no real advances and HUGE red rail lines, using the new graphics to highlite those destroyed rails... The only good SOV rail/supply areas are Near Veli Luki, t o the West of cousrse as that is where are front is and also those lines slighlty north. This area has seen great amounts of losses.. and also is the most fortified.
Much armor has been moved north.. Estonia now looks like ? Many armored units there! In the South several bridgeheads where pushed back by well rested super groups.. resulting in one red group being surrounded and eliminated.
Super group is a 43 German Armored formation with all their troops and 95% of there tanks and guns at 150% supply

Lake Piopus advance are somewhat similar.. the enemy was essentially stopped cold till the frozen lake allowed too much area to cover. The lines here are very reinforced.. much armor has been sent here.. and lost here! Not the solid dark/black rail for the red army near Southern tin of Lake Peipuss

the lake has melted but the game "stole" one 7 unit elite fully supplied and outfitted uber division without telling me, my counterattack with five weeks before mud is straining me to say hte least... the south has a minor breakout and anouther counterattack from my forces, pix soon.

Keep in mind these scenarios are built by volunteers. They didn't get paid to do them. (Except maybe a copy of T3 for letting Matrix include them with T3).
To repeat history in a game is to be predictable.

Toaw3 is a bargain at under 100.00 given that it has lots of potential for expantion and what 300 plus scenarios? I whine and cry.. [:(][:(]
Really the solution is my own version of fite, without the pre programed shock, where you earn shock the way the current game handles replacements.. the farther into USSR the Germans get the better they do, gradually tilting to nuetral, and then after 43 the farther the reds push West, the better their shocl.. the current game is oblivious to the actual game for these critical issues.. so, sorrry if my whinning offends, I am heading into mud 44 spring with an army, many good troops but a serious need for inf and air .. Funny note about the air, I have several thousand air in reserve, it sure would be nice to mobilize them, even as sub par units rather than the way it is now where the reds get tooooooooo much of everything, damb lend leese Rossevelt commie simpethiser LOL[:-][:-][:-]

Um....the farther the germans get into Russia they worse they should do!! :/
After the first few moves the shock represents, IMO, stockpiles of supplies laid in for offensives and counter-offensives, which can't really be replicated with hte curent supply system.

ok, the farther the getramn get , the BETTER the WAR effort is doing.. think of it as a see saw or teeter totter.. do you know what those childrens playground toys are? anyway, If the Germans arewinning, the reds should suffer MORAL or SHOCK effects! Taking Staling Moscow and Lenningrad should not HURT the nastys but should be rewarded, and then weigh in an ever increasing Western aid commitment in troops and supplies and to a lesser extend shock starting in winter /spring of 43...

RE: waiting for the last mud in early 44
We launch operation sliced bread, intendng to cut off the Reds and back them into the Paipus.. BUT WHAT? I cut them off and they are still showing grean? I guess I did not fugure in the super supply unit giveing extra supply. I do not think I can sustain an offensive as streatched as I am.. and now there is another hole in the dam in the south![X(]
It is turn 278.. 11 turns or so till the mud and things are not so critical that we cut and run in the south.. But if he had full supply lines there I would be very concerned!
Finland is a slow dance.. not much to say. Hopefully as the weather continues to warm and I can use open water marsh and lakes to hlpe me defend in the Northern zone I will still have an army to use after the mud...
Any thoughts on how far I should withdraw? I am thinking Poland and the fortified lines there.
Suggestions , towels.. for crying [X(] lol

RE: waiting for the last mud in early 44
Poland? No no no no. 10-20 hexes at most. Maybe next major river...it sounds like apart from Northern front he has been unable to fix the rail lines, thus that's the only palce where you should withdraw enough to give him supply problems.
