Talonsoft vs Matrixgames Versions

I own the original Talonsoft versions of East Front, West Front, and Rising Sun. I have a friend who just bought the Matrixgames versions .... he keeps trying to play me in scenarios and for some reason I can't open them. I figured it was because I didn't even have the scenario available that he was trying to play .... so I asked him to send me the 4 files for the specific scenario he wants to play and what I still can't open the battle.

Jason said that perhaps I needed to start the game on my end. Well, when I try to open it from my end .... I get the black screen with one terrain tile in the upper left hand corner.

Can anyone tell me what the problem is?

What scenario in which game are you playing?

If it is custom, are your files installed properly?

If it is East Front, does the map need to be converted? Was it designed in 1.03 and you have 1.02? If so, you will not be able to read it.

Can you play the scenario against yourself?

This happens with a number of scenarios in West Front. I have West Front and Sea Lion installed along with WF Patch wfbp1_105_us.exe. But one particular scenario is called
Red Berets.

some of the scenarios were started by my opponent and I can't play those and then I have him send me the 4 scenario files for the specific scenario and it still doesn't work.

other scenarios are the ones that came with WF and SL and some of THEM don't work.

have no custom scenarios that I'm aware of and not sure how to install them wrong, but
hey, I'm old so who knows?

Can NOT play the same scenarios against myself.

Well, first off, you have the wrong patch installed, because by the looks of it you do not have the West Front BP.

I believe Sealion is already 1.05 ready. Looks like you will have to reinstall.. West Front first, followed by the Sealion disc. Once they are installed, double check which version you have... it should be 1.05.

Okay, this is what I have so far.

West Front: installed
Sea Lion: installed
Patch v1.05: installed

So I'm still having the same problems ..... argh!!!

Well, first off, you have the wrong patch installed, because by the looks of it you do not have the West Front BP.

I believe Sealion is already 1.05 ready. Looks like you will have to reinstall.. West Front first, followed by the Sealion disc. Once they are installed, double check which version you have... it should be 1.05.

PS. Did you uninstall and reinstall?

The 1.05 patch shouldn't be necessary on a fresh install with Sealion.
