back after a long absence

Post by rickh »

I recently started playing SPWAW again after a hiatus of several years. I first found this game and site back in 2000. I've sort of been playing on and off for the last few years, and it's good to see the game is as popular as ever and I recognize some of the frequent posters names.
The reason I'm posting is that I have some questions. I recently (last week) registered at thewargamer.com so I could post a scenario my friend created based on the Canadian assault on the Schelt estuary in Holland in 44 that guarded the approaches to Antwerp. It's the assault over the cuaseway to Walachern peninsula. I submitted it 5 or 6 days ago but it hasn't shown up yet. I guess it needs to be reviewed b y the powers that be, but how long does that take? Secondly, even though I registered, I cant post or reply to posts or do just about anything. How do I get posting privileges?[&:]

Welcome, rickh. As a Canuck, I would be very interested in playing this scenario, so hopefully it shows up pretty soon! Unfortunately, I really can't answer your questions, but hopefully someone else can.

the wargamer often takes a long time to get the files posted...
you may even have to resubmit it...

Welcome back, rickh! Try the ENH mod for sure, and stop by the Depot and say 'hi' if you like.

What is this enhanced mod of which you speak? I've DL'd a few scenarios from wargamer that say they are enhanced mod or version and they seem to run just fine on my version 8.4. Guess I've got some cathcing up to do...

You shouldn't be using 8.4 anyhow...it has a severe spotting bug in it, as well as other bugs that make it worse than 8.2 to play.

It is great to see you back and active Rickh. Good hunting.
