Cuba 62 tips

Post by endfire79 »

Hi there, decided for something other than WW2, and Cuba 62 seems like the right choice.

Should I be landing any troops on the first turn? Or should I just be hammering away with airfield attacks, bombardment by sea & air interdiction?

I used to play this scenario, it is fun. You can hammer away if you like, the U.S. force enjoys great superiority. I usually landed on the first turn, though. The two things that I remember most about this scenario is that the night turns have a significant effect on your forces, and there are certain locations that need to be captured for your benefit and to hamper the Cuban defense (check the briefing for locations). And some U.S. reinforcements only arrive on invasion beaches. So usually I would do nothing on the night turns, while using the day turns to put my best effort into capturing those important locations. The scenario is 32 turns in length, but because of the night turns you really have only 16 operational turns. So you have to be quick!
