Yes indeed, I've been clearing space for this game. The weather is supposed to be crappy this 4th so I was hoping to Bomb the bejeezes out of some Nazis[:D]. Screenies would hold me over, though.[&o]

RE: Any Screenshots?
1. The screen I will be looking at most of the time (IIRC it was imperium galactica II which has not sold due to the ugly screen you had to watch most of the time).
2. A combat screen
3. Production screen.
My wish list.

RE: Any Screenshots?
I don't see any thing that Harley should complain about, so think I can show these
this is the zoomed out level, with target damage turned on
it is from the Big Week short Campaign, in the mini map, you can see the red line that is the area you can "play" in, the rest of the map is not used (full Campaigns use the full map, short Campaigns, battle may use only a part of the map)
you can scroll or use the mini map to move around with

RE: Any Screenshots?
this is the next Zoom level
gives a little better detail on where you are at
the different colors, shades of color, tell the damage done to those areas, as you can see here Hamburg and area around it are still in pretty bad shape, so overall as the Allies, you want to see Red, lots and lots of Red, Orange is damaged but not knocked out, green is good

RE: Any Screenshots?
okay a little closer now, more detail
at this level you can start to tell the targets by there Icons (which the Icons will change to also show there damage level)
we are centered on the Big B, Berlin, lots of good targets in Berlin, but, you can see them in the snap, but kind of HARD to see if not knowing what to look for (much easier in the game)but there are a few RR Flak units spending some time in Berlin

RE: Any Screenshots?
and we get closer still
over all a good view to plot raids to the target and paths, but not really a good view to watch the battles unfold, unless you really want to see what happens here
now the target types are easy to look at and tell what is what, you can see the Airfields and radar sites, Power and Arm, a AFAC and some EFACs and Ports, and, and, and so on

RE: Any Screenshots?
and if you really want to look at something
there is this zoom
some of it can get pretty cluttered, but in real life, the stuff was even closer, BC is good for this, not only do they area bomb, they also tend to get creepback, so a BC raid on a City Area, may also creepback and do damage to point targets also
in this view the RR Flak is easy to see, and the icons for the target types are also easy to read
but again, other then to see what is there, not really used much for combat (but at night, I do like to zoom in and watch the fires burn when BC comes around)
so over all 5 zoom levels, but you will find the ones you feel works best as you play (most times, I think I use 3 or 4 of them on most turns)

RE: Any Screenshots?
Big B as seen from the area filter
you can see how some of the RRs, and smaller cities overlap with in a big city
damage is again show by color, BLACK, is burned out and ruined
and again, looks much better in the game then in a screen shot, that red HARDly shows up at all on the screen shot

RE: Any Screenshots?
so with in reason, that is the map and the interface
the interface is the buttons to the side (filters) and the buttons on top of the screen
these are from a Allied side, so you are seeing the plotting buttons
when I click on plot bombing raid, then the other buttons I will need will show up (pick lead, pick target, 2nd target, way points, add bombers, add fighters and so on)
Combat screens ?
hmmm, combat takes place on the map itself, raids will fly to there targets along there waypoints, enemy planes will try and stop them and what not, and when they met, you get reports of what happened
but you will mostly get messages about fighters attacking fighters, or bombers (and the results) bombers over the target, flak fireing, damage done to the bombers and so on (the Defending player will see damage done to the target as it is getting bombed, the attacking player, has to wait for the raid to land and the "photos" to be looked at, and not always are photos good, which can be a hassle with BC, they may take a target out, but the recon for the target is not up to date, so the target will look like a undamaged site, when it is really burned to the ground, which is why, most of the older players of the game, still say, recon, recon and more recon)
plus, good old Harley has tosses in some winkles of his own, with out going into too many details of the how and why, but, recon, may take bad pics (but with his other winkle, of having the Recon birds take more then one pic during a mission, it is not as mean a idea as it may seem

RE: Any Screenshots?
Thanks once again HS. I really cannot wait. I remember when it looked like it might be out for last Christmas and some wag joked that you meant Christmas 2007. I know you cannot get into predictions, but are we likely to see this released in this calendar year? I'm not being pushy, as I think that you are right to not put it out until you are happy, but it would be nice to be thrown a bone...[&o]

RE: Any Screenshots?
Thanks for the shots Sarge. Looks good and very encouraging.
I have no doubts that we're still quite a while from this getting released, but looks like it will be sweet when we get it.

RE: Any Screenshots?
with plane icons on, the raid is shown as a Allied box, you don't know what it is, so it don't show plane type, but you do see your own types
next is the same shot, but with combat lines on (most of the old timers use this system, it is easyer to follow and know what is going on, but boxes and lines can be intemadating to new players to the game)

RE: Any Screenshots?
finally the FW 190Fs reach the fight
Fs have one good thing going for them, they can carry 4 Rockets, which makes them good at breaking up bomber groups
makes them even worse as fighters, but...
