And I disagree about the real challenge too. If you start all the threads your name stays on screen longer than being last post. Why is the last sticky locked anyway?

How old are you Bob? You seem to remember lots about the Roman Empire? It's all I can do to remember what happened on Rome last week. Bad language, sex and extreme violence I think (Top Show!).

I have not seen anything from Onime for a while? Is he ok? Has anyone heard from everybody's favourite Dane and our ex-resident Martian?

Has anybody ever managed to get their name in all of the last post boxes on the main page? That would be an UberFaber!

I can imagine telling the grandchildren that [:D]
Yes, it's not an uber-faber. It is called a Marky. [;)]

Anybody have any plans for the 4th? I'm heading over to a friends house that overlooks the city...we intend to watch people's houses burst into flames as they misuse illegal fireworks. [:D]

I am off to a wake with a funeral and a dentist appointment tomorrow. Not a fun holiday for me.

Watch those illegal fireworks. Just saw on CNN that someone got killed by them already[:-]
It's not the firecrackers that kill...it's the stupidity...

It certainly feels like this. This is part 2 of the root canal trilogy. It will all end next week.

Year 72 BC:

Battle of Cabira - Lucius Lucullus defeats Mithridates, overruns Pontus. Mithridates fled to Armenia, rules by his son-in-law Tigranes, who refuses to turn his father-in-law in to Lucius Lucullus.

Quintus Sertorius was assassinated by his subordinate, Marcus Perperna, who was in turn defeated by Cnaeus Pompeius, thus ending the Sertorian War in Spain.

The Helvetii and other peoples under Ariovistus invade Gaul.

Though IRL the USN planes were occasionally able to show their claws. It's a FACT that the Japanese canine bonus is historically incorrect. The horrible aerodynamic effects of tail-wagging haven't been taken into account at all......
