PureSim 2007 v1.60 Released
This version is a full install and will update ANY version of PureSim Baseball 2007 or any of the CE releases to v1.60. v1.60 is the final feature update for PureSim 2007 as I hunker down for next year's version. Of course I will continue to do bug fixes if there are critical issues, but I'm done adding anything to this code base. I have already started the PureSim 2009 Branch.
Download PureSim 2007 v1.60 Here
FIX - DirectX engine now fully operational (On Vista and XP). Even though I
thought the last release was working there were still cases where it was not
initializing properly. Fireworks are back now (really, I mean it this time).
Hopefully I will start to exploit the deeper DirectX support with future
releases.
FIX - When managing a game live, the pitcher's ERA was not being calculated
correctly if he game up UNEARNED runs in the current game being managed (note is
WAS being calculated correctly in his stats, it just wasn't being displayed
correctly on the in-game screens.
NEW - Brand new re-vamped box score screen with many layout and information
improvements.
NEW - Added navigation links to box score screen to make it easy to quickly
browse all of a team's box scores.
NEW - Completely revamped pitcher fatigue and recovery modeling algorithms.
NEW - Added an estimated % of fully rested to the pitcher's player card next to
the description of his current fatigue level.
FIX - If player affinity mode was on and the association was more than 3 years
past where there was Lahman data then the amateur draft was taking way too
long.
FIX - *Very* RARE error 3021 when building Almanac

Sweetdeal Shaun thank you!!!
BTW to make it suspenseful for the 2009 release.. you should keep hush hush on what your adding.. then as you get closer to the release, post little bits of info or screenshots.
Either way I'll be buying 2009 when it comes out.

Strong work Shaun! I sorta missed the fireworks.

RE: PureSim 2007 v1.60 Released
I've already installed this on one PC and I really love the changes so far. The pitcher exhaustion improvements, though they form a new obstacle, also form a new challenge, one that I am looking forward to. I now really pay the price for keeping my setup man in the game for more than 1 inning! Nevertheless, everything has translated seamlessly-- I've played 3 games on v1.60 without any issues.
I plan to test the "affinity" issue today on the association that was having that problem. It's on a different PC so I'll share results later today.
One last thing though Shaun, am I correct in saying that the fireworks were simply made functional-- but they are still optional? I'm hoping there's a way that I can turn them off; I was never a big fan of them.

Fear not, FS, the check box to switch the 'works on and off is still there.

That was quick ! Thanks Shaun
Does this also apply to deadball era pitchers not getting enough CG even with modern closers turned off ? Should this help with that ?

Nukester, in my early tryout of 1.6, recovery is related to innings pitched in previous appearance and the pitcher's endurance rating. So, for those deadball-era guys, you may see more realistic results. The only way to really know is to test it for yourself.
In my late-40s association, I'm seeing the good stuff-control pitchers having their overall pitch counts slightly reduced, which in of itself leads to more potential for a CG.

10 team fictional association starting in 2000. The starting pitcher in the game before the all star break did not get any rest whereas everyone else did.

Shaun, instaed of differnentiating between unearned and earned runs, Puresim under 1.60 at least when managing a live game just adds every runs as being earned.

Should I try installing this download to see if it can fix the problem of
not being able to play the game in MANAGER MODE????

I really can't fathom why you are having this difficulty, grog45. Perhaps you could post some screenshots?

RE: PureSim 2007 v1.60 Released
Well, I just got done uploading the PSA file of the League I created to Shaun and I'm going to wait and see what
he says about it. I don't know what screen shots you would like to see but the game runs fine except you only see the option for QuickSim and PSPN Cast modes when you are ready to play a game.

Is the team set to "Human Control"? I don't mean to insult your intelligence just asking something that could have been overlooked?
RE: PureSim 2007 v1.60 Released
Yes the teams I wanted to manage were set to human control. Someone said that I might have choose multi-player
mode when I created my league which doesn't allow you to actually manage the team. If thats the case do I have to scrap my league????
Also, if I chose the single player mode can I go back and forth for what teams I want to manage and what the computer manages???? If not, how would I play a game when 2 teams I have selected to manage play eachother???

grog,
You won't have to scrap your league. Go to the Home screen and select Options and Utilities then the Association Settings tab. Near the bottom is a check-box in the Multiplayer section entitled "Enable Multiplayer Support for this association". If you uncheck that box, it will revert all teams to computer controlled and effectively convert your multiplayer association into a single-player one. Though all teams are changed to computer-controlled when you do this, you can still go into a specific team and assign it to human controlled immediately afterward.
In response to your other question, when you run an association in single-player mode, you can switch back and forth, assigning control of the team to a human or to the computer. However, when you're in single-player mode, hence the term single-player, you won't have the problem of two teams you manage playing each other... since you can only manage one team at a time. Granted, a team you were just recently managing may go up against a team that you are currently managing, but you simply cannot have more than 1 human-controlled team in existence at a time.
I hope that helps.

The new update installed just fine here! Many thanks for that! I've been playing a 1962 association, and was wondering what I was doing wrong? I play in single player, managing my favorite team, and the season is going good so far. But, when I check my Minor League players, I'm not seeing any stats. I see the players names, and the info on what position they play, etc. What do I do to get them to play a Minor League season, where I can just check how they are doing, without actually playing their games? I missed something somewhere I believe, but not sure what I need to do?
I should mention also, they all are Triple A, no one in the Double A or the other set either.
Thanks,
Eddie[:)]

Hello, Eddie!
How many games have you played so far? If you've just started, the minors may not have had a chance to "catch up" with your majors. You see, the minor leagues are simmed a little differently; instead of updating game-by-game, they tend to update in batches. So, while you may not see much activity for a couple of days, you will see results shortly.
Also, you mention "without actually playing their games". I apologize if I'm missing something obvious, but what exactly do you mean by this? There's no way to play a game in the minors; you can only play games in the majors. PureSim 2005 was the last one that gave you the option to play a game in the minors.
