Trouble getting started

I just downloaded WIR. The game loads and plays, but all the numbers and spaces displayed in the game are garbled. I run Windows XP. Is there something I can do?

Get DOX box. It works really well in XP. You have to go through a few steps that might be challenging for a non DOS person but it is well documented and it works well for me.

get DOG on the same site as dosbox - it's a graphical frontend that eliminates the need for any DOSbox knowledge. another frontend for dosbox is d-fend - they both look and work the same way.
