Retreats ..

Post by IrishGuards »

Well I have seen the backs of quite a few of my opponents ...
As it seems right now I understand that units will retreat .. but .. it seems that some units retreat away from safety and into the fire so to speak .... [X(]
The holland corps will retreat away from the Hague ..
I just retreated a spanish garison from behind the river .. yet in front of Madrid .. his left flank defended by 10 Arm .. and he retreats across the river towards my forces .. [:'(]
He had nowhere to retreat as the Spanish Ftr was also behind and adjacent to both Madrid and the Armor also ... [8|]
I had another situation in Iraq ... garison in the capital moved out 1 hex .. I came in and he retreated away from the capital .. even though this meant my next turn Iraq will surrender ..
Maybe theres a wee bit of a prob .. I am not sure .. but it seems to happen especially around capitals ... [&:]

Retreats are very difficult at best.  Controlling men in retreat is no easy action.  Game seems to handle it fairly well.  Sure I would often like the guys to go to a different spot but it really makes more sense the way they do it I think.
