Attaching/Deploying Leaders

Commander – Europe at War Gold is the first in a series of high level turn based strategy games. The first game spans WW2, allowing players to control the axis or allied forces through the entire war in the European Theatre.

Attaching/Deploying Leaders

Post by Skeleton »

In my current game the Russians are not active but obviously I am able to purchase and deploy units. But I cannot deploy a leader unit that has been available for the past three turns, can anyone tell me why or what I have done wrong? Is it because the Soviet Union has not yet entered the war? Thank you in advance.

Deploying a leader uses up a units turn, but neutral countries have no turns to move. The leader will be put last in queue in force pool so there should be no problem with it blocking any other unit. Since you do not know exactly when Germany is going to attack, it can be nice sometimes to have 2-3 leaders already built for USSR so you can deploy them already first turn [:)]

But it does block unit deployment for all units after the leader.  I solved this with the Russians just by reserving enough PP for Zhukov so as soon as the war started I could "purchase" him.  It would be a nice fix to allow nuetral leaders to be deployed.

The production queue will show the Commander blocking other units but as soon as you open the force pool, force pool will sort the production queue turning it into a list where deployable units are placed first so this problem should not arrise.

Can u send a save or screenshot showing that because it would be of great help.

That was as I thought. Thank you for the reply and information as well as the tip of having several leaders ready for the beginning of Barbarossa!

I haven't used the forcepool before.  I will have to check that out.  That isn't the deploy units button, is it?
