CR Crashing - Problem with PTs

Post by Rafael Warsaw »

Its, 1.806
BigB 2.31
PBEM
scen 190

CR crushing (in the middle of combat animation) during surface naval action (night) between US PTs (different ones, no pattern here but Im not sure) and IJN STFs (different, no pattern here). It happend at: wake, Midway, 2 times at Palmyra. Other PTs vs IJN went smooth.

We have had this problem since the very begining of hostilities. Its Aug 42 and it happened again.
We was able to move on just because my honest friend KPAX was changing orders for his PT TFs to avoid combat at all.

heres a msg:

AppName: war in the pacific.exe AppVer: 1.8.0.0 ModName: war in the pacific.exe

ModVer: 1.8.0.0 Offset: 000520bb

Yes, I do have a save befor but not after (CR crushing so no after).

Btw: My Art is CHS something (latest one), mostly BIG B work. I can see all sprites of units involved during combat animation so its not the case (???)

This one is new - let me talk to a programmer type, see if there is an "obvious" (to him) solution.

Try turning off animations and see what happens.

OK - i think you are saying that the game is crashing during the Combat Replay, yes?? (CR = combat replay?? or did you mean Carriage Return (i.e. - ENTER))

The standard solution is to reload your art files... possibly there is a corruption in there that is doing this.

EDIT - Yamato hugger has an easier solution to try to troubleshoot... try this first (turn off animation if you can). If it no longer crashes, then probably there is an art file problem.

Settings like Animations are fixed during Jap's turn. I can not change this now.
We will try to find some time to try one fast turn without animations and I will let You know.
Strange, we had problems only at these locations (wake, midway, christmas), ie we had 2 other PTs surface combats this turn at kiska and attu and everything worked. Probably not a graphic issue but I am not an expert.

Also, try rebooting (cold boot, or multiple warm boots) if not already done - this from the programming guy.

He says it* is almost always a graphics problem.

EDIT (*crashing while watching combat reports)
