Alternate Unit Symbols

Post by MacDuff »

In PT alternative NATO Symbols was eventually included. Will there be other types of unit symbols to choose from in Advance Tactics?

hi MacDuff,

No i will not provide alternate counter symbols in the release. I think the current counters are just splendid and give way more info then the NATO ones. But as ever: the editor will allow you to change the counter graphics specified in the masterfile and by doing so changing the graphics in all scenarios that come with the release.

kind regards,
Vic

I like the counters as they are...they bring back memories of playing Panzerblitz back in the 70's................

And your point is?

Personally I prefered the Panzer 44/Mechwar77/October War series, but I understand and agree with JP.

"2. You can change the unit pictures to get NATO style counters if desired"

I guess this statement isn't the case now?

Here's a vote for NATO symbols - I never use anything else -- too "gamey"

IMO the graphics work fine as they currently are. It's one of the features of this design I really like compared to PT. It's easier on my old eyes to get a quick feel for where the armoured forces are, vs the others.

It's a matter of taste. I live the immersion factor of NATO symbols though - I'll hold off buying this one until there is a patch with NATO symbols or a mod (would do them myself if I could but hopeless with graphics).
