Question about "too much armor"

Post by Gudadantza »

I have a dude. I have been reading a lot of subjects about the armor in CCIII and CCOI. But I would like to know if "officially" The armor "problem" is minimized or fixed in the Matrix edition.

The Wargamer review says so. But I have read That is not correct 100 per cent.

Someone?

Hi Amalur,

Ifyou want reduced armour some of the mods will provide it. Real Red Infantry Mod for example. You do have armour but it is limited. A very good mod.

Thanks for the response.

I thought Real Red was incorporated into Matrix version. wasn´t it? Real Red or something similar...Or Real Red as the basis...

And that is the reason of the question. I have read that the Matrix edition continues with the CIII way of reinforce. And I´d like to know if the comments about that subject are correct or not.

Having Real Red into Cross of iron the armor "problem" should be minimized. But Reading the forum I see some people that not agree. What is the "official" change?

just curiousity. dudes about comments.[:)]

Greetings

Without additional mods, the armor 'problem' is definately still there. The campaigns against the AI are quickly flooded with AFVs (poorly handled AI AFVs that is...). If you didnt like the tank-fests of CC3, then you'll have to download a Real Infantry-type mod. My personal hangup with that is that it pretty much removes almost all the armor in the game leaving only the small armored cars etc.

I dont mind having tanks in the game. I dont mind having heavy tanks in the game. I DO mind having to fight wave after wave of AI tanks (particularly heavies) each game. It becomes repetitive and boring (and easy since the AI cant utilize armor well at all).

My biggest hope for this re-release was that the AI pick routines (and crutch points) had been tweaked such that the game remained primarily about infantry with armor support rather than the tank orgy that CC3 was. But unfortunately to date, this has not been the case (and I havent seen anything to the effect that it is even being looked at).

Dont get me wrong...for standard battles and vs human players, its still a great deal of fun. Just dont expect to see much change in the tank-fests for the campaigns.
