Axis Tag Team Before Action Thread

Post by el cid again »

Policy question one: Should we use or avoid using the Ki-36 biological warfare bomber? EOS has this aircraft assigned to several units in addition to the Unit 731 air unit (the private air force of Gen Ichii's Pingfan Unit 731 biological warfare organization). IRL JAAF did not like these weapons - and Ichii was unable to get any cooperation making the bombs - so he made them himself at Pingfan (with considerable difficulty). On the other hand, we are supposed to evaluate all special things in this game. I think we can just do that with the Unit 731 air unit.

If it was possible, it should be an option. And exercising it should give the Allies an extra year and an unlimited supply of A-Bombs to retaliate with (not to mention the use of all that stockpiled but unused poison gas.) Instituting "germ warefare" would have really put the Japanese "beyond the pale..."

They "tested" it there..., in the way Saddam "tested" Chemicals on his Kurdish population. But note that he didn't try it on anyone who could fight back...., or retaliate in kind..., or had nukes. Even the "Saddamite" wasn't that stupid..., and one would doubt the Emperor/Cabinate was either.

No, he wasn't. Amazingly, he was stupid enough to pretend he had a lot more of a WMD program than he really had. As the saying goes "Smart people do stupid things all the time."

Regarding WWII, that regime wasn't afraid of much. Just curious - was potential retaliation the reason they held back from full scale deployment or was it something else?

[Sorry about the thread hijack!]

Didn't some of their "tests" backfire due to weather?

That could explain their reluctance to continue. Apparently the Sun God couldn't guarantee the "Weather God's" cooperation[:D]
