Yes, I would also enjoy a good flag mod file. Are there any available?

When you load the game the flags are available to attach to specific units. As to where the file is I'd have to go looking for it. I don't know of any mods out there right now, but your welcome to create something but run it by Gil or Eric to make sure there's no conflict.

Hi guys,

IIRC, I believe the file you're looking for is; 'flags.pcx' The flags are all stored as one big matrix, not as individual little files.

a) you will need to be able to open and edit pcx files (photoshop can do this)
b) you will also need to edit the alpha channel, which defines the transparency. It should be 'flags_a.pcx' (in Forge, all files with an '_a' suffix is an alpha channel)
c) You might have to edit a spreadsheet file to tell the game that there is a flag there in the new slot. (perhaps eric can tell us if that is true)

When modding the game, be sure to back up your files!

What would really be neat is if there was a way to automatically apply historical battle flags for armys, corps, divisions, legendary units, etc.

This is something that Eric would need to answer, and he's still off camping, but I see that there's a "FlagNumber" column in the ACWStart.txt file. Perhaps one of you should experiment by assigning a few flag numbers to that file to see what happens.

Question. Have all of the historic flags from the ACW been added to the flags files? Thanks.

All of the ones we knew about. We've asked for extra submissions but only got a few, which suggests that it's reasonably complete. If you find any that need to be added please create a thread in the main forum, or dig up the one that by now must be several pages down.

Great. I'll take a look when I get a chance. Might take awhile as I think there's quite a few things going on right now.
