Nik will Triumph because his heart is pure and his mind sharp. (He drinks a Red Bull too...giving him wings in which to shoot down Bettys)

subs can be a pain now.....Joe and I both scored well with them under 9.2 conditions. Its dangerous to hang around one spot for too long or take predictable paths.

Our heroic naval pilots scored a big victory today, despite the enemy numeric superiority. About twenty Betties escorted by the same number of Zeroes, attacked the enemy invasion fleet. About 40 Wildcats were flying CAP over the ships. Despite heavy losses (7 Zeroes and 4 Betties), our bombers sank an enemy heavy cruiser. Another DMS was also sank by a small group of Betties

Despite heavy losses (7 Zeroes and 4 Betties), our bombers sank an enemy heavy cruiser. Another DMS was also sank by a small group of Betties

On the plus side however.....we can see that Wildcats shot down 7 x A6M2's for the loss of only 4 x F4F's...a ratio of 1.75:1 in favor of the Wildcat, once more proving that there was never any significant advantage held by the Zero over any US warplane. Ok....we outnumbered them 2 to 1...but this was countered by the fact that the Wildcats were in a landing pattern at the time of the Japanese attack yet still shot down more than they lost + 4 Type 1 Lighters...all this despite being in a position of severe tactical disadvantage

The loss of the CA was a fluke. Would never happen in RL. US ammo doesn't explode unless told too.

Nik is still a great general....statistics prove it.

-Just for curiosity, where exactly the F4F´s were landing if the CV´s were in another hex and Guadalcanal was still in Japanese hands[:D]? Ididn´t know you have VTOL fighters...
-More seriously...this 1,7:1 rate is pretty the expected kill rate against F4F´s when Zeroes are at extreme ranges. Fortunately, the Nik A2A system allows a few Zeroes and Betties to survive the enemy fighters.
