The massive soviet preparations for an all out attack on germany forced the heer to counterstrike the mighty red army, before its too late. God save germany!

u.i: this must have been one of my worst first turns with the germans in 41. Failed attacks, bad coordination etc. I'm realy rusty,this will not go too well like this.

We rescued our cut of comrades, and pressed on to the east after the retreating aggresors. Red air force only pulled back a bit, but did not left the battlefield.

This week the werhmacht held its annual partisan hunting party. This partisans look like soviet mechanised units, but they have extremely low combat power with devastating railcutting abilities. The Luftwaffe bombed them to ensure their shattering. A lot of them were destroyed, but there must be some more. Against soviet accusation we claim that there were no prisoners shot (there just were no prisoners:)).

We hunted down some more motorized parisans and closed in on a soviet defensive line before kiev, smolensk. Our air forces made probing air attacks to judge their strength. They are very strong sadly.

1941. july 20.
Clear

In the north and south our troops closed in on the soviet line. With massive air and panzer support we achieved a little breakthrough, and now we have 2 hex deep bridgehead in the soviet defence line near smolensk. Our losses are frightenig, those soviet peasants in the opposing shock army fought like devils. Sadly soviet snipers shot down the officer who kept the losses statistics in the centre, so there are no losses report this week.

Clear

Another bloody breakthrough in the centre, after the soviet withdrew a bit after last week. This time a few armies are cut off, but the escape route is open.

In the centre 2 normal and 1 shock army surrendered as we strengthened our bridgehead near smolensk. In the south we are preparing for assaulting through that big water...

German panzers rolled in some soviet towns (Demyansk, Novogorod, Dnepropetrovsk), some were encircled (Smolensk, Velikije Luki). Sadly no prisoners this week.

The defenders of Kiev throw back several of our assaults, laughing in our face despite great numerical disadvantage. I all other fronts our troops consolidated positions. Our officers see fear in the eye of the simple soldaten. They dont belive the official line that the red army is crushed. The red air force is back, airfields carefully out of german fighters range, they dare to challenge our bombing raids.

Ignoring great losses our panzers bullied they way east in the centre. Smolensk were captured, 2 defendig soviet armies destroyed. We took Kiev and Kharkov in the south.

1941. 08. 31.

Operation "All or nothing" has started. After showing commitment to go to moscow to diverse enemy attention our panzers went south. In the south our panzers in Kharkow went north. Kursk and Orel was captured. In the North a panzer korps cut the rail line behind Tikhivin (he should rest in peace in a few weeks). This operations should have cut quite a big part of the red army. Our panzers are in grave danger though, the month of september will be the mosth important month of this war.

4 or 5 panzer korpses were cut of in the orel area... The encirclement were opened, bu a lot of soviet armies can now escape. The northern panzers cutting supply to lenningrad were air supplied in a huge air battle. In the south 2 soviet armies surrendered.

Sounds like he's retreating as much as possible. You've got a few weeks of decent weather left....

Now its all about causing damage to him as his loses were minimal so long. If he can escape with his troops winter will be hell.

In the south we begun to destroy the soviet armies who were cut off. Only about half of the attacks suceeded (tired panzers, damn strong soviet armies). The north is a big mess, everybody cuttin everybodies supply all the time... The defenders of Lenningrad hold the city strongly with 0 supply, many german soliders died there this week.

Sorry, VC=Victory Conditions. There is a panel you can bring up that shows you how to win. Basically , you need to take certain cities to add up to 5 VP's I think. Moscow is worth 3 VP's, there is about 5 other cities each worth 1 I think.
