Why are my engineers ALWAYS getting MURDERED?

OK...OK...I am just flat out frustrated...EACH time I move engineers into a minefield hex they are always reduced and disrupted...making this IMPORTANT aspect of the game (possibly the game itself) USELESS! Sorry, I just wasted an hour moving my assault forces, positioning my engineers in front of mine fields, laying smoke, and BLAM! SIX DISRUPTED AND USELESS engineer platoons which were subsequently blown away!

What is the deal here? I am playing nothing more than your pre-written scenarios (and I have had it happen in all three games (EF, WF, RS) so, it's not isolated. Is this a bug that needs to be fixed? Is there a download patch available?. I have seen no other threads on this and I would alssume it would have drawn significant and widespread ire by now...Is it isolated to my download perhaps? Please help...I'm laid up for the next few weeks post-surgery and I REALLY, REALLY need the distraction from the wife and kids![&o]

This game is my only escape...and right now...I'm trapped!

This is a known bug and is to be fixed with the 1.02 patch, which is apparently due out Tuesday.

COOL! Thanks for the quick response...I thought I was the only one up late. Do you know if the patch will fix a game in progress, or, will I need to start over?

The patch will update the engineer problem, regardless if you are in a scenario already or not.

You will have to start DYNAMIC CAMPAIGNS in East Front over.
