Early August update!

Post by Marshall Ellis »

Hey guys:

Just an FYI since we DO have some different news to report!
We are beginning to put the dress pants on the game!

The manual is almost complete!
I am awaiting final music.
I am awaiting one last BMP file from the graphics team.

When these things happen then we can produce a Golden Image within a week (+/- week). This doesn't mean that it will be released in a week or two since there is a lot that Matrix has to do to get this thing dressed up for release (Boxes, manual, CDs, etc) but MAYBE I won't be the delay any longer.

I hope that my next post will be even better news GIVEN no surprises happen!

Thank you
Thank you

HUGE sigh of relief.  Great.  Sounds like this year, even 6 to 8 weeks perhaps if the Gawds smile.  I bet the end of the tunnel looks VERY sweet indeed Marshall.

Will this game support multiple screen resolutions?

Seems like a stupid question, but apparently it is not really something one should just assume.

I guess christmas came early this year! [;)]

The game will take control of your graphics card and set it to 1024 X 768 so the answer to your question I think is no??? It shouldn't matter what your resolution is when you run the game and when you exit the game it should restore your settings to what they were when you started.

LOL Jean,

I joined these forums over 4 years ago on the news they were doing EiA and am now at about 800 posts.

At least my brother will finally get his Christmas present from 2002.

It's good to know that this game will be available soon.

But...but...fixed resolution for a 2007 software? and 1024x768 when the default hardware (LCD screens) in the last few years can handle 1280x1024 or more and looks awful when they have to handle anything other than his native resolution? and about aspect ratio? 16x9 and 16x10 monitors are too common now to ignore and will be the norm in the near future.

Oh well, I'm waiting for this game for too long to let this detail keep me away from it, but I have to steam this out, I really hate to have to look at stretched out bitmaps on my screen because the game has a fixed resolution, and apparently don't even have a "windowed mode" as a useful compromise.

Ohh, the 1772-variant, with the very young Bonaparte as a 5-5-1-E leader. Cool.

Kaeler = you have to remember this started prior to 2003. I think at the time it was a key decison but perhaps it will change as I wait patiently with my 24" 16x9 monitor!

Sounds very promising. I played the game for years, but moved and have not found a group nearby. It will if this will be out this year. I may need unlimited long distance calling for the diplomacy sessions though[X(]
