Kamikaze

Post by leknes »

I'm a little uncertain about how air units with 90+ experience can be used in night Kamikaze attacks?

Do you simply assign them SA missions, then they'll make their attacks at night?

PacWar never implemented Kaiten attacks....they didn't sink many ships, but just like the Ohka they were part of the Jap Kamikaze effort.

a good book on the Kaiten is I-Boat Captian it goes into a detailed account of there developement and use and misuse. it also gives a very good account of Japan's sub effort and waste. if you can find it read it. All you PT-boat fans would like it also

Yep, if they have 90+ experience, they will periodically make a night kamikaze attack, but you have no control over this.

Is it really recommended to use a 90+ exp in Kamikaze attacks? Wouldn't it be wiser to use it in normal attacks instead, and use the less experienced groups for Special Attacks?

If you could get the 90 exp units to attack at night, it would be worth it....if not it wouldn't be much more of a waste than letting them attack the normal way.
US CAP & flak in 44-45 is so heavy that the attacking unit gets mauled no matter what, so why don't give em a chance to inflict some real damage?

It cost me 2000+ of my best planes to sink 2 Essex's, 2 CVL's and damage 6-8 others CV's & CVL's in a US raid against the Phillippines in late 44.
None of em were kamikaze....

The only units I don't want to use as kamikazes are my best fighter units. (70 exp and up)
