Any Screenshots?

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Hard Sarge,

Thanks for the screenies and updates on progress...

I'm sort of hoping that the final graphics are better or moddable. No offense, but those graphics look pretty much like the originals and are dated. The zoomed in levels look pretty bad. It would be awesome to see map graphics as clean looking as say The Commander game.

Also the screens with unit info (the ones with the black background) have really small text in white. Even on my 21 inch monitor that's going to cause eye fatigue...another issue I had with those original games.

Lastly are the "icons" themselves... again, hoping, wondering, praying that these get a face lift...

Still, I anticipate this game greatly[&o], but if those graphics are the same from like 8-10 years back... I think today's graphics cards are a tad better than EGA cards.

not sure about how Commander looks compared to these games
Graphics are moddable

for the screens, I think it is a case of too much info and too little space, I think Harley is working with the biggest font he can and still get it onto the screen

Remember, the Art, any Art, can be modded, we got some good stuff in there, but others can work with it and make it more to there liking

but, got to say, we will not be able to let out a editor or have it in our plans to release one

there is too much that is HARD coded, too much that is line depended, too much that is slot depented, to offer a editor

something very easy and simple, can just break the game down, or stop how it is suppost to work

I know that is a big goal and wish now a days and we would like to do so ourselfs, but with this code, it just is not really workable

If the game is coded right and tight, I don't see why an editor would be needed. BoB adn BtR campaigns are pretty well defined and researched. Player already has the options to veer from historical strategy and bomb whatever they want...so editro probably isn't needed.

Having said that, there may be some things players and grogs find that need changing, stat wise. Hopefully DEVs can listen and implement if needed...

But knowing that at least the graphics can be changed will be great. I'm hoping these are stored away neatly in some folder that can easily be modded.

Not to hijack this thread but didn't see where this request might fit in in another topic, but whereas we have the moonrise/set setting for light how about a sunrise/set too? This would help for early/late afternoon raids you might want to do or not do thinking weather might be better over continent at certain time of day. Also a quicker way to tell if moon is waxing or waning instead of having to remember what the light level was the previous turns to tell.

Heh. You're right, it's not the right thread, but it's a bloody great idea, though it might have to wait for a patch...

Roger

in the winter, that can be a major pain, send out a early raid and it gets to the target and back and it is still too dark to bomb :)

At some point we have to lock down the feature set. If we add every suggestion that comes along Waynno and I will be working on this game for an actual ever, rather than just a perceived ever.
