Indeed.[&o] I am looking forward to the future releases from Frank. We know that CLGA2 is in the works, but haven't heard anything about Sumpter to Appomattox 4 for awhile. I assume it is next up after CLGA 2. I wonder if Imperial Ambition is still a possible project. I think there is alot of interest in that Era.

Completely agree! You'd think there is a niche market for this time frame due to so little that's been done. Matrix does a great job keeping me from family time!

Just adding my kudos. I purchased this with some trepidation because I was sick of WW II and the Civil War. Easily the best war game I've played in a very long time.

It's very good. Planning and decision-making are hallmarks of a deep wargame.

If you attack all along the front without a clear objective you will achieve nothing- this game makes you decide where your main blow will fall.

I have a lot of great games that have high ratings in PCGamer and just globally. Galactic Civilizations-2 and Dark Avatar expansion, Civ4 and Warlords expansion, Company Of Heroes, F.E.A.R., Supreme Commander, and many more PLUS lots of Matrix games. However, I have had MORE fun with GoA than all of these games combined. I don't really know why, but I have. I was very cautious before purchasing this title mainly because of what was said about the interface and resolution. I sure am glad that TheHellPatrol enlightened me to this gem as he bought it first and then sold me on it.

Thanks Frank Hunter for the many years of work you put into this excellent game. I love it! [&o] [:D]

PS: Frank, if you're going to do another game, please don't take ten years to complete it! [;)]

Have to agree. I'll be honest. The Interface thread worried me. Then I read Frank's reply and bought purely because I thought his reply was refreshingly honest. Boy am I glad I did.

Great fun.

Exactly the same here. When I saw how kind his replies were, I wanted to support him.

Indeed, the game is fantastic, and I can't wait to see more from Frank.

I must confess I was disappointed at first. I never buy a game when it first comes out preferring to to see how it is accepted by the wargaming community and not have to ask questions on forums. The problem for me was the manual but enough has been said on that now.

The game is first class with simple mechanics but a very wide choice of strategies to persue. I find the level of abstraction just right for this conflict and game reflects the big decisions of the time. Do you send out the HSF to try and keep the British Empire from intervening on the continent or keep it as a threat. Do you want to pound an enemy to pieces before lauching an offensive or is an ally about to collapse forcing you to go on the offensive and suffer the terrible casualities which mount at an alarming rate for even moderate attacks. The economic system is great and you never seem to have enough of everything. I especially like the hand wringing decision to spend a valuable offensive point to capture that resource needed to get an extra point but knowing that it could all go badly wrong.

With a decent FAQ the game is a classic for this conflict.

After playing for many hours now I even like the interface which now appears simple and concise.

Thanks for the game

Thanks for the support guys!

I also just wanted to add that CLGA2 covers not just the 1806 campaign but also the Spring and Autumn campaigns of 1813 plus more.

And yes I still plan on finishing the long-delayed Imperial Ambition (politics, economics and war in Europe in the age of Bismarck and Napoleon III) because the period is a favourite of mine.

I would also like to thank everyone who has been answering questions for me.  With the volume of comments that the game has generated I've been finding it difficult to read and answer everything.  So its great when I see questions already answered by other players.  Thank you!
