mobilization or impassables

Post by randell765 »

Mabey I am doing this wrong as the CP (BTW, the game is awesome, still learning but it is awesome). But when I shuffle my units around, example is the Russian border, I inadvertantly move it to a hex that can't cross over(looks like a river)?

How can you tell if you can move through an area or not, if it is impassable or not? this way I do not waste a turn moving my units to a different location. This has happened twice. Also I believe there is a north area around Belgium you cannot move units through, is there any way to tell this kind of information from the hex?

You should be able to move to any friendly hex, one hex at a time. The exception being if you're moving more than one hex via a strategic move (both hexes must be friendly at the start of the turn). The other exception being moving across sea zones, but this doesn't apply here. Rivers won't impede movement, nor will rough terrain. Depending on the type of terrain crossed, your units simply lose varying levels of readiness. You can cross all hexes within Belgium. Could it be that you were trying to cross a border of a nation that you weren't at war with? Also, for any offensives you need to make sure you've activated the respective HQ.
