bridging units and artillery reinforcments

Post by Deus exmachina »

a few weeks ago i bought this game installed it , threw out my old versions of the CS and got addicted again , but now i have a question . after installing the 1.02 patch i started playing one of the dynamic campaigns in East front , at division level when you play on the german side you get this , in my opinion useless, bridging unit ( 5 engineertrucks , pontoon ferries and crewed boats). Now my question is how do you load them ont those trucks , the game refers to the manual but there is nothing about pontoon ferries in the manual. Maybe a a good idea for a expanded manual in the next patch ???.

Second most annoying point is the way your artillery arrives onboard as reinforcemnts . Usualy the artillery battery arrives on a diffrent turn and diffrent place as their carriers .most annoying .
Other than these two problems i think this still is one of the best pc wargames ever even after all these years

Hmm, you should be able to drive the truck to the ferries or crewed boats, select both units and press the load button. If that doesn't work, then something is screwy because it used to. I believe this requires 100 Action Points.

Although you might find them useless now, you will appreciate them during river crossing scenarios. In the meantime, you could just remove them from the map, if they are situated so.

That is an annoyance of the randomness with the dynamic campaigns. All the more reason to switch to the linked campaigns.
