Ogg files index

Post by Arkady »

Hi,
I have a question about sound files indexes for weapons and movement.

Name syntax is XweaponY.ogg and XmovementY.ogg

I suppose that X is number defined for unit in oob file, right?

What's about Y ? It is variation for basic 0 sound and it is picked randomly by game engine ?

And what's about explosion files ? Are they tied to units in oob files or they are picked randomly ?

thanks for an answer

Ogg files index

Post by Hammer732 »

I would like to piggy-back on this subject. I also was wondering if sound files are tied to OOB's or played at random. It seems that many sounds are played much more often than others when it comes to gunfire, explosions, assault etc etc. I also noticed that the Talonsoft sound files are WAVE files. How do I convert older Wave files to OGG files as some sound file mods are still available on CS websites from years past?

Thanks for any assistance.

Sound files are tied for OOB but for some files there are variations

For WAV to OGG conversion you need some software, try dbpoweramp Music Converter for example - http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm
