Ghost fragments appearing on new transport TFs
This one goes in the "annoying" category, but not critical, because I've found a work-around.
Latest version of CHS, latest version of executable (1.804 or whatever it is). No, I have -NOT- seen it in stock yet.
So to the nitty-gritty...
When I form a new transport TF at San Francisco (maybe elsewhere but haven't encountered it yet), I go to "loand only troops", and select the unit to load. When I go back to the TF screen, all the transports show empty. When I click on each individual ship, I get fragments from other units (in this case, Dutch BFs from the SRA), but the load on the ship is zero. However, it's -NOT- loading the intended unit (because it thinks it's got the ghost SRA Dutch unit). If I go back to the LCU screen, the LCU is there, with nothing loaded. When I go to the TF screen, the ships are there, with just dashes on their load on the TF screen, but with the ghost unit appearing on their individual screen.
Naturally, I 'bout had a coronary when I thought I might not be able to load anything at SF, as this might be problematic for the war effort.
I was able to get around the issue, by leaving the first TF with ghost unit(s) intact. Then "form new TF", and then add all the ships of the first TF. I am then able to load the actual LCU that I want to without issue.
I know the game gets heart-burn when you have too many fragments on map. While I have evac'd fragments from SRA, I haven't gone crazy, and most of what I did evac, has reverted to the parent and are rebuilding. Just adding that so you have as much info as possible.
Save games and replication procedure available upon request.
Again, it's annoying (I essentially have to create the TF twice), but it's not a game killer. Then again, I don't want to be doing something that shoot me-self in the foot later either.

RE: Ghost fragments appearing on new transport TFs
OK - in cases like this i think NON-finalized turns are needed.
If you have them, send (one at a time) and PWs to:
rtrapasso@ gmail.com (no spaces).
You said this is 1.804 (not 1.806) (just checking).
Give details on exact units, ships and and locations and any other relevant details if you could.
If the first save fails to replicate the bug, then i'll ask for more saves.

I have been seeing this, both with and without ghosts, since long before 1.8.004. I also found that it can occur in any port, not just SF. I reported it to Mr Frag (yes it was that long ago) but there was never any resolution. In my case, the saves did not exhibit the problem on his machine. Since the work around (disband and reform the TF then tell it to load again) usually works I have not reported it since, but I still get it once or twice a week in both CHS and stock.

RE: Ghost fragments appearing on new transport TFs
I'll get you a save and procedure to recreate tonight. EXE file is the latest (806 or whatever). Do you need Bilbow's password as well?

RE: Ghost fragments appearing on new transport TFs
I'm going to send you the turn. I can't come up with a rock solid procedure to duplicate the issue. From my save, the issue is "infreqent", but if i load enough transports, I eventually get the bug.
I'll send you turn with my password, and you "play with it" when you get time. I doesn't take that many TFs before I get the load bug. Also, probably related to this, I noticed that the when creating a new TF, I'm seeing that sometimes it goes to the loading screen WITH A UNIT ALREADY MARKED AS LOADING. This happened 2x. If the the TF then has 2+ ships in TF, it selects the unit that is STARTED the screen with (not the one you select). But if you unselect the (bug) initially loading LCU, then you can load your new LCU (but it obviously shouldn't be pre-selecting one). If the TF has only one ship in it (I was experiementing), it won't let you select an LCU of your chosing, because "it already has a LCU selcted" (you get an error message).
I know the game hates a million little fragments, and I'm thinking this might be a (mostly) CHS issue. Given the fact that units are "heavier" and transports are "smaller", you MUST use more transports to haul units around, thus creating more fragements (which leads to "wonky" results).
File before game ending with password on it's way.

So should I turn off the computer before I tell my parents? How will they know what I saw?

Knavey, our parents...
Mom - Couldn't find her email on my machine last week because the home page is set to Matrix.
Dad - Spams out 40+ emails a day from Bootz (or whatever it's called) each day.
Something tells me that even if you showed Mom and Dad what you saw, Mom would still be trying to figure out how to sign onto email, and Dad would end up spamming everyone with even more emails of "look at this cool site that Dave showed me!".
Right now he seems to be stuck on Bootz. I've got his emails from there, filtered to go into the trash bin. Don't make me need to set up another filter because he's found that there are actually 2(!) sites to visit on the internet.

RE: Ghost fragments appearing on new transport TFs
i am having some problem with reproducing this and i am wondering if perhaps you sent the wrong save...
i went to SF - but there is only one TK there - no APs or AKs. Since you described the problem ONLY occurring at SF, i am wondering if you sent me the incorrect file.
i did try forming TFs at other ports - but they loaded just fine.
EDIT: It occurs to me this MIGHT be happening because you are using CHS and i test these using a regular installation.
