Last night I began to assemble the campaign in the campaign editor. I typed up some of the battle result reports and what not...and then decided to try it out as it stood, just for the heck of it.
Anyway, I picked my forces ( it will be a Marine company for the campaign ) and their support ( amtacs ) and deployed them. When I started the battle I found to my amazement that the offshore naval support that I built into the first node was not present!
Instead of having a naval bombardment, I had to drive into the teeth of a relatively unscathed Japanese defense...and, needless to say, I got murdered!!!
Since this is really my first shot at a Pacific campaign...do I have to add additional support points for the naval support to be picked at each node/battles beginning? I would hope that there is a way to make the artillery set up in a scenario an AUX force just like the combat units. If there is, however, I haven't stumbled across it.
Any input from you pro's? I would like to get this puppy ready by the end of the week (next Friday was my targeted release date...with work and family figured in
