Unit/Group selction

Post by Bungle »

hey

Question on selecting, had a couple of post tutorial quickie games last night to put my razor sharp skills to the test (psschewww) and one thing really bugged the hell out of me.

The game was Midway stock DB, the carrier task force is immediately under attack and unfortunately we lost a Leahy class cruiser [:(], oh well, the ship is duly dropped from the TF status 'on fire sinking', quite obviously hors de combat. So why then when I want to select my TF does the game select the damaged ship as first choice. Obviously the two icons are sharing the same space and a mega zoom fixes the problem but is there any other way to stop the crippled ship being the first, second and third chioce when clicking in this zone, it cant be given orders and Im damn sure there was no one left on board anywho (Admiral Bungle having given orders to get thell outta here, [:D] ). Be helpful if anyone has a 'cunning plan' to get around this. It was damn annoying obviously the air was thick with planes after the initial sandbox/shaddock battering, and I sure as hell didnt want to order them to land on a second hand cruiser, that carrier sailing past seemed a much better option alas the mouse and AI thought otherwise.

It all ended well we sent those reddo watsits packing, no pacrimmers gonna get to my Midway! [:D]

Select a dead unit and then 3 on the numeric keypad to clear an old contact.

At the very least you need the Hotkeys list;

There's quite a few other links to online documentation - the Media Wiki is good, but it's never had quite the detail of the original Harpoon 2 manual.

Uh huh, that would do it! Had the hotlist out    was looking for a toggle button or such like, for some reason the I thought  the 'clear old contact' option related to the bad guys, pooh to that thought I, I like to watch em burn [8D] it happens so rarely for me!

A cunning plan indeed, thanks Mr Fingers

I have the HII manual and the down load .pdf manual and assumed 'new/updated' game new/updated manual so didnt realise the bleeding obvious.......    new version doesnt have me pulling my hair out like the 360 version or maybe its the 10 year layoff..  I dont get so easily frustrated....

LOL well the idea behind H3 was to do H2 without the bugs.

Still a work in progress - next patch is supposed to be released in September, all being well.
