Kamis to be fixed?

Post by viberpol »

I've requested these fixes before several times but never gotten any reasonable response from Matrix or the group currently working on patches.

2. Can the bug which has kamikaze air groups attacking land bases ( and doing no damage) finally be fixed? It is rather disgusting to see 100 or 200 kamikazes wasting themselves on an allied airbase 300 miles distant instead of the Allied CV TF 60 miles offshore.

These seem simple fixes and are actual bug fixes as opposed to "enhancements" as such they should have some priority for being fixed.

... and I'd like to add --> if really need to hit bases, shouldn't they at least do some damage?
+3. Reported by others Okha bomb not working

Any chance these things are fixed in the foreseable future?

While we are not supposed to comment on what is being worked on, the items are "on the list" so to speak... one problem is that everyone has a different idea what is a priority item, and so things may not get fixed in the order that any particular person thinks they should be.

The problem with the Okha has been traced to a simple typo in the scenario data; it's amazing what one zero can do... The Okha code has been tested and found functional, but it isn't getting the numbers it's meant to have.

Thanks for your answers.

Hmm...
So what you say Terminus is, that it can't be fixed without scenario data changing?
If so, the CHS/RHS modders should have been able to fix it as with the radar issue?
Did they?

It all stems from the Okha factory being set to produce only 9 a month instead of the 90 it should have. I have no idea what CHS and the rest have done with it, but it's fixed in my personal mod. It had to be, after Joe W. found the problem with a savegame I sent to him.

That's something that bears stressing: it doesn't help to just complain about the problem. Do a little bit of work on your end, get a savegame ready and send it to the people who can actually fix things. Just whining does nothing but annoy.

Isn't it obvious that anybody whining has saves ready for support if only they're interested?

I am complaining about "ground-hitting kamis" and I do have saves from PBEM ready for anybody who wants to see it.
If I decide to complain, I am willing to help.
But rtrapasso commented that the support is aware of the problem, and it is "in the line" so there is no need to continue on that..

I didn't have any problems with Okhas, because I don't have them available as yet.
Just interested for comments as you said it isn't a problem of executable code, but scenario data...

Uh, no, actually - this is usually NOT the case... they may be interested, but getting good saves is the trickiest part of the debugging process.

However, i don't think we need saves on this one (i think they already have them, but i'll check).

I thought so. I wasn't to report some new case, just asking if it is supossed to be fixed soon. [&o]

The Okha problem has been fixed, as I said. My save, Joe's fix (if you'll excuse the expression).

Per the last big thread on Okha's they actually do work and have always worked - though you need to make sure you have some in the pool. We have tweaked things a bit to make the game behave more gracefully if the pool is empty. This tweak will be in the next patch.

Also we've got a fix to force Kami's to only attack TFs in for the next patch as well.
