Unit cycling buttons

AGEOD’S American Civil War - The Blue and the Gray is a historical operational strategy game with a simultaneous turn-based engine (WEGO system) that places players at the head of the USA or CSA during the American Civil War (1861-1865).

Unit cycling buttons

Post by MrBoats »

A question for the fans:

Would anyone else like to have a set of unit cycling (e/r/t/s) buttons on the main screen for more ease of use? I know it may sound incredibly lazy of me, but I'd like to be able to run through my units with the mouse rather than by the keyboard. I think three or four buttons below the save/advance/main menu buttons would not be too obtrusive and would speed up the turns somewhat. Also, a "garrison" order would be nice for units that will be posted in cities for long periods, and/or for ships on station at sea. Such a command would keep them out of the unit rotation after the ctrl-s command.

I love this game and I've been playing it since the beginning, and I appreciate all of the support given by AGEOD, particularly the attention POCUS pays to our posts. I'm curious to know if any other gamers would like to see the features I've described.

Thanks!

I'm always for more options. Count me in. I too would like to cycle through the units without remembering the keys. [:D]

This is a question of priority as you understand. We plan to do some more work on shortkeys and keybinding before the end of the year, but this is several months away...

Pocus,

Thanks for the response. I entirely understand -- it's not a major problem, just an item on the wish list. Thanks to you and the team for producing and refining a wargame that is well worth the price.
