2 ?s Unit icon outline color? Gas barrages?

Post by uncc »

OK, its late, been working all day, and playing some GoA tonite. I noticed, or thought I noticed, a color outline on some of the unit icons. Red, cyan, green, and yellow. Now I know when I activate a HQ, all the units it can "activate" are outlined in yellow. I thought I saw green tonite when I was going/trying to fire a gas barrage. So what do the red and cyan outline colors indicate?

And just how do gas barrages work? 1st I see poison gas as a choice, so I click it, but then I can't designate a hex. Then barrage is a choice and I can select a hex. Is a gas barrage a 2-step procedure?? Thanks...

Red means the unit has moved, cyan means it is none of the others - ie it can move and is not activated.

Funnily enough I never sem to use gas, so I've no idea!!

OK, here's a screen shot of a unit outlined in green (for a gas barrage).  Guess I didn't imagine it...[:D]

If this is the first time you're using gas, I noticed it was your late Spring 1915 turn, the same time the Germans used it on a large scale.  Cool!

and it was a 2-step deal. I had to select "poison gas" first. Tried to select a hex. Couldn't. Then selected "barrage, then a hex. Guess I'll give it a go later. I'm outta here...[>:]

I sure hope we can Mr Hunter to do some updating on the manual. So much stuff is just not there....

When using gas you have to load the guns first i.e. it functions just like when you just load the guns.

At any later point you choose the barrage order to unleash the content on the unhappy foe.

Note that the color on the guns differs with each type of gas. I assume that's for the really optimistic guys, who likes to research multiple levels of gas before using them [;)]

Ah, I was wondering if the outline color would change if the gas level was higher.  Thanks.

I was going to post this screen shot last nite, but was too tired.

Note the overlapping text.  It looks like it has to do with a gas barrage, I can make out "Gas Green" but can't read the last word/number. And I can actually check/uncheck the box, but can't tell if it does anything or not....

Gas overwrote firepower?  I never noticed that, one more thing to fix today

I think the last word reads "cross". Green cross ought to be the first stuff you get to use.
