Demo of some version of Harpoon to try?

It doesn't seem that there is a demo of ANW to try.

Is there a demo of some earlier incarnation of the game either DOS or Windows that is available to try? I am a little bit curious about the game and would like to get a sense of it.

Also, is there a downloadable PDF manual available for ANW or some earlier version available to take a look at?

There is a demo version in the works. It will be fully featured but limited to one database and set of scenarios. When we have the details set in stone, it will be announced on this forum.

Mark, where did you find that earlier iteration demo? I swear I had it on my HD a while back, but I can't find it now. I'll look forward to the updated demo, though.

After getting the game I deleted the demo and forgot where I found them. Sorry.

I just used Google. There are some very old DOS and Win 3.1 demos out there.

Yesterday I stumbled upon the HC97 demo at Download.com (which surprised the heck out of me)!

Hmmmm....yesterday I downloaded a Demo called ¨Harpoon III¨

Is that the game we are talking about here or is ¨Harpoon 3, advanced naval warfare¨ a different thing?

ANW is a direct descendent of Harpoon 3 but they are not strictly the same (same look, same feel, ANW is newer, updated, etc.).
