Turn 2:

The enemy HMG Platoon in Loose Hill fires again and this time is able to pick off 1SP from 3rd Company's HMG Platoon.

Heavy German artillery fire is called on the British position and disrupts the HMG unit while causing a half-strength Rifle Platoon to retreat.
Before the British recover, a Panzer IIIF assaults the British unit and pushes them out of Loose Hill.
Subsequent fire from armored cars further reduces the fighting ability of the enemy machinegunners.

1st and 2nd Company approach the small village of Loose from the east and south respectively.
A substantial British garrison of HMGs, several Rifle Platoons, and an Engineer Platoon defend the area from excellent defensive positions.

Turn 3:

The British exact a terrible revenge on I Battalion's bold but foolish head-on attack.
Two 40mm AA Guns situated in a bunker to the west of Loose suddenly open fire with a full salvo at 1st and 2nd Company troops and kill 1SP with each volley.
HMG and Rifle Platoons defending the area around Loose also claim two more SPs.

In a very short amount of time the Germans have sustained 6SPs lost and must rethink their plan of attack.

Major Gause decides to wait for reinforcements and then attack Loose from the direct south with 1st and 2nd Company while 3rd Company moves to attack the village from the east.

Turn 4:

Three platoons of Motorcycle Troops arrive and are rushed towards 2nd Company to provide much needed assistance for the attack on Loose from the south.

The Panzer IIIFs and armored cars continue to fire on the British defenders from range, but the well protected enemy suffers no casualties.

Turn 5:

Two Motorcycle Platoons approach Loose from the south through the hazy cover of a smokescreen. 2nd Company follows close behind.

3rd Company carefully approaches from the northeast.

The defenders continue to hold strong despite continuous heavy artillery shelling and German tank and armored car fire.

The much-needed Panzer IVs are nowhere to be seen.

Turn 6:

The Motorcycle Troops and 2nd Company close in on Loose from the south, and engage the smaller garrison which is heavily entrenched in rubble. The small Rifle Platoon is destroyed, and the HMG takes casualties from the concentrated German fire.

3rd Company maneuvers further north to deliver a coordinated two-pronged attack on the resilient defenders of Loose.

A platoon of Motorcycle Troops, two platoons of Panzer IVs, and a three-gun battery of 88mm FlaK Guns finally arrive from the east and proceed to head west at maximum speed.
The Motorcycle Troops are fired upon by a stalking British Rifle unit but fortunately suffer no casualties. Panzer IV fire drives the bothersome British away and allows the reinforcements to continue unabated.

Great AAR! [&o]

It's helped me to get a better feel for the Campaign Series game mechanics & the Campaign games, themselves.  I'm going to try one LCG for Rising Sun.  BTW, what Optional Rules are you using?

Good luck in this campaign!  Keep it going!

Ayup, this is a good one....a real dilly of a pickle as Flanders would say...

I will say that the valiant Germans get a little payback in the next turn.

Cool, and thanks!

Kokoda Trail and the Guadalcanal one are good LCGs to get your feet wet.

And I use all optional rules except extreme fog-of-war.

Good luck!

Turn 7:

Thirty minutes of almost constant heavy artillery bombardments has taken a toll on the British defenders of Loose. The latest German salvo explodes all around the remaining defenders, causing heavy damage and leaving the survivors badly shaken. 3rd Company's HMG Platoon adds to their misery with strong machinegun fire from an excellent vantage point at Loose Hill.

The Germans opt to seize this opportunity and assault the town before the British recover, but the only units available at the moment for the task are the three Panzer IIIF platoons and an armored car section.
The Germans can ill afford to delay any longer, and with some trepidation the order is given to the armored units to storm the village without infantry support.

As the armored units burst into the village with all guns blazing, the shell-shocked British offer only minor resistance and quickly surrender en-masse.

For them, the war is over.

Turn 8:

With the fall of Loose, the Germans shift their attention to the northwest towards the tiny village of Pimp Court.
Two partial-strength British Rifle Platoons and a lone HMG garrison the area.

The Panzer IIIFs and several armored cars approach from the south, while 3rd Company hides below a ridge and awaits their chance to attack the village from the east.

Meanwhile, further south, Captain Geis and 1st Company stealthily head west via a highway. A small armored car detachment has moved ahead of them to recon a massive complex known as Workhouse.
The trailing paratroops are suddenly charged by a half-strength British Rifle Platoon led by a British Captain whom for unknown reasons decide to abandon the Workhouse facility.
The answer will never be known because the British unit and its leader are quickly decimated by a hail of bullets from 1st Company troops.

After Pimp Court falls, 2nd Company will be charged with defending it as well as Loose. Several fresh enemy Rifle Platoons are spotted heading south in that general direction.

Turn 9:

While two platoons of Motorcycle Troops distract the garrison of Pimp Court from the south, 3rd Company crests the ridge and attacks the village from the east.
With heavy fire coming from two directions, the vastly outgunned British suffer casualties and disruption.

The conquerors of Loose are called on once again, and the Panzer IIIFs and armored cars make quick work of the depleted British garrison.

With Pimp Court in their hands, the Germans emend their plan.

The Plan: (Phase 2)

Turn 10:

While 2nd Company stays behind to guard the German conquests, 3rd Company and the armored units move to engage and destroy the troublesome 40mm AA Guns before proceeding further west.

Panzer IIIFs approach from the north, and through a smokescreen from the east. A half-strength British Rifle Platoon has also taken up residence in the bunkers. Two platoons of motorcycle troops and several HMG units also position themselves to assist.

Further south, the Panzer IVs, a Motorcycle Platoon, and the Engineers attack a small British Rifle Platoon which has heavily entrenched itself in the Forstal Farm.

Meanwhile, 1st Company slowly creeps along the highway west towards a strategic crossroads. The woods are thick, so I Battalion's 81mm Mortar Section is loaded onto trucks and rushed over to assist 1st Company's advance.
They are the only German artillery unit capable of firing smoke rounds.

Truly fantastic effort here, thank you.

Looks like I will have to revise a few things, based on what I know now as a designer.

It's my pleasure.....in fact I'll be kind of sad when it's all over...

I really haven't seen too many screwy things, but one thing I should've mentioned....way back on Scenario 2. When the Germans were attacking Hythe I spotted 4 units of loaded trucks to the west of the town. They just sat there for about three turns (I kept forgetting to plot arty on them)[8|]
They finally reacted on the very last turn....looked like they were Engineers.

Not sure if that was intentional but if they had reacted sooner that battle would've been much harder!

Turn 11:

The two 40mm AA Guns and the half-strength Rifle Platoon fire desperately on the closing German Panzers, but are unable to find a target through the thick smoke. The Rifle Platoon attempts an escape, but is caught by the waiting guns of German Motorcycle Troops and is harshly obliterated.
Left alone to their fate, the 40mm AA Guns are assaulted by the German Panzers and quickly disabled. German morale soars across the entire front when word spreads about the destruction of this particularly deadly unit.

The small British garrison in Forstal Farm also meets the same fate, coming under intense fire from Panzer IVs, HMGs, and Engineers until the unit ceases to exist.

Further west, on the highway heading west toward the crossroads, 1st Company and a Motorcycle Troop encounter several British Rifle Platoons blocking the highway from either side.
The Germans will concentrate on eliminating the northern blocking force first, as the defenders are in less formidable fortifications.

Turn 12:

The northern roadblock beats back the German Motorcycle Troops with heavy loss. Panzer IIIFs attempt to flank the blocking unit but are instead attacked themselves by a hidden Engineer Platoon that is deeply entrenched in the woods. Three Panzers are rapidly lost, with the survivors beating a hasty retreat.

Several armored car sections successfully flank the British defenses and cautiously recon the crossroads.
The Germans pause for a moment and await further reinforcements and smokescreens before resuming west.

Back east near Loose, several roving British Rifle Platoons approach the village but get a rude welcome from 2nd Company's II and IV Platoon.
These appear to be second-line troops that pose no great threat.

Turn 13:

The Germans advance once again towards the entrenched British line in the woods, but this time use several smokescreens to mask their movements.
Heavy artillery is called on to soften the defense.

Armored cars continue to probe north of the crossroads, with the smaller PSW 222s being ambushed by a hidden Rifle Platoon and losing one vehicle.
Their bigger PSW 231 cousins come to their aid and drive off the British unit with loss.

Many imposing British units and intricate defense works are spotted far north across the river. British units seen include various types of tanks, troops, and gun emplacements.

Several airstrikes are alotted to strike against the British armor units, among them the dreaded Matilda IIs.

Near Loose, rifle and 88mm FlaK fire destroys or drives off the marauding British Rifle Platoons.
