Crashing lan games, and lisences.

Post by lorentzt »

A friend of mine just bought the game, and we did start a lan game (Grand Campagne).

The first scenario vent well, but while playing the second we startet to get a game crash when loading the maps (buying units worked, then when done..). Afther trying several times it suddenly worked again. Afther 16 hours of play (hard to say no to another day..) or so we started to get the same problem almoust regularly. Now it seems that if i use all the unit slots the game crashes 8 out of 10 times. While if i let one slot be open i loads 8 out of 10 times. Is this a normal problem?

So the lisence question.
ATM we only got the game he bought, and most likely we need one more game to play legaly. (Can you confirm that?)
If you need one copy of the game for each computer we will buy another copy. IF we even can get that darn bug to go avoid it would be likely to get more of our friends into the game to.
Chess is the ultimate strategy game, unfortunately you lack the random chance to blame.

Reposted my questions to the support forum. Would seem to be a better place to get some answers :)

Not sure what you mean by stock game but. I think its the digital version (will ask my friend tonight), and no mods is loaded. (Using the standard Grand Campagne)

Do you have the digital download version?

We are bouth using the digital download version (two diferent licenses as i bought another one today).
Same problem. 2 out of 4 tries to play a lan game (last cp on the Grand cp) Bouth that crashed happend when opponent was finished with buying first. Bouth that worked was when i (hosting) was finished buying first. No idea if that is a coinsident or not.

Did play 4 battles last night, and got only one crash. (so 1 out of 5 tries)
All the 4 that didnt crash i as the houster hit next afther the purchase first.
The one time my opponent hit next first the game crashed.

Not enough evidence yet to know if its pure accident or if the problem is connected somehow with who finished trading first.

Did do 4 new battles today. All with the host to hit 'next' first. One crashed so 4 out of 5 vent well.
Looks like our theory didnt work out afther all. Dont thing any of us had any elite units.
