Penalties

Post by long_time_fan »

Hi guys, I noticed two little quirks in the game so far.

The first occurs with a penalty on second down. Declining the penalty should cause the game to go to third down, but in the game the down stay stuck on second and does not advance - giving the penalized team a free down. Accepting the penalty gives the extra yardage and preserves the down as one would expect.

The second is a missed field-goal inside the ten yard line. I received the single but the opposing team received the ball at the spot of the kick ON MY SIDE OF THE FIELD, not at their own 35 yard line. Thus they had only to march less than ten yards to match my score.

I need to stress that both of these "issues" are minor. I love this game and I really wanted to thank you Dave for making it.
Regards,
Long Time Fan

PS - How well has this game done (in terms of sales) and when will the 3.5 version be available.

Hi.

There are a couple of known issues with the penalty processor in the current version. The testers are actively pounding away at the penalty processor in the new version.

At this point, I'm not announcing any timeline for release of the new version. History as shown me that if that target date is missed (and that can happen for umpteen number of reasons), it causes more harm and confusion than anything else.

thanks
David
