error mssgs during install of game and patch

Post by emcgman »

Hey Everyone,

Ok, I just purchased Pure Sim. I have Windows Vista (don't really know if that's the reason) and during install of the main game, and patches, I recvd 1 error message each, which I continued through to complete the install.

The game seems to run fine, but does anyone have any knowledge of what the potential issues, if any might end up being.

Usually, if you get an error during a game install, it won't let you continue, so I was glad that I got the game installed and patched up to 1.63.

Thanks in advance,

What were the error messages you received?

I was afraid you were going to ask that.

I didn't write them down, so maybe I will reinstall the game at some point in time and see what happens.

Thanks,

The last Patch I used v1.63 gave me an error message and I was told by forum members to just ignore it. I did and it seems to work fine. I have had a couple crashes/freezes of game but lost no progress of game, just restarted game and picked up from where I left off.
I have WinXP.

Emcgman, once you get 1.63 up and running, I'd recommend adding the latest patch (1.67). It is still in beta, but Shaun's additions are generally stable.

Does Vista have an XP compatible mode? Don't know if that's necessary, as I have no experience with Vista.
