Recombining units

Post by hbrsvl »

Hi-v1.806, Allies, 5/43. I have US 24th Inf. Div on Saipan. Beforehand, I had to break it down into 3 parts, 24A, 24B, 24C due to lack of transport. I want to use it for Iwo.

Problem- I cannot recombine or merge them into one whole div. There are no buttons to push to do so.

I ran a check on Army units(red flag at top of screen, infantry) & there are no bits or pieces of the div. anywhere else.

Please, some one, what can I do?

Thanks, Hugh Browne

Hi,
you should check if all weapons in all 3 parts are the same. For example If part A upgraded from 75mm howitzers to 155mm howitzers, but the parts B and C are still using 75mm guns, you can not recombine. You will have to wait till all parts will have the same version of the equipment.

Put them in a non malarial large base with lots of supply, HQ, that sort of thing so they upgrade and fillout.

jumper-Thanks for your input. I checked the A,B & C units & found they all have the same mortors, AT, pack & regular howitizers.

There is a slight difference in the numbers of guns in each unit. Example-A has 17 81mm motors, B has 16 & C has 13. The variations are in each type except for 75mm pack howitzers -all same at 6. Also, in each type there are ample relacements in the pool.

There is also a slight variation in numbers of infantry in each, even though the "accept rerplacements" is in force.

If the problem is in numbers of various equipments & there are ample numbers in the replacement pools, the question becomes "How do I get the equipment out of the States & into the units?" I don't know how to do that.

Might you have any other comments? Thanks again, HB.

Hi,
the problem is not in number of the equipment. But maybe they have different versions of infantry squads. IIRC there are 4 versions of US army squads. The upgrade dates are 7/42, 1/43 and 12/43. Unfortunately I don´t know how to check it in the game. There are no differences in their names. All of them are USA Rifle Squad..

CHS differentiates between the different variations of the Squads - to keep problems like this from happening.
